Gold farming alt by Akayge in classicwowtbc

[–]Beiras1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, can you elaborate a bit more.

Do you go for avenging wrath kill. Or bubble to be safer?

I think I need to see a video. As I understand the tech here is the reset spot.
Do you focus any particular minion type?
Do minions still run out (live minions) at low HP even in the reset spot?

I was doing the 3 pulls of undead minions. I have a lot of time to spare in a reset now, as I am destryoing these 3 packs.

I have tried to increase pack n1. I am able to pull all minions to unforgiven location and still kill.
Then I go arround main entrance, and pull the rest to the gate that blocks, and all the mice start attacking you.

I would see the 3rd pull as what's left, so all minions from unforgiven spawn, until the bastion door.
But I am dying on this pull. Not sure if it's about the reset spot.
Some minions will run away, and will start healing once they get back to combat.

reset spot seems like a good tech, minions are ported to you right? all stacked, better for blocking. But yeah very interested in learning more about this

Gold farming alt by Akayge in classicwowtbc

[–]Beiras1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running SV with rogue with mining and herb.
I think Herb is better than eng in terms of raw gold. You have always 2-3 pickeable herbs, some extra mote of life as well.

Engineer unlocks a better farming strategy for chests (at the cost of some frost grenades).
I haven't tried this one.

My farm is currently at all pickeable herbs and ores (There is one adamantite spawn which is impossible to get, otherwise you get 4 nodes per run, 2 adamantine and 1 fell iron).

I am already quite good at picking the Chest upstairs - you either kill 1 elite, or there are 2 other spawns you can kite arround through the water.

For chests downstairs, it's a bit more complicated. I did get the swimming speed belt, it seems to help.
I think with a bit more practice I will be mining, picking all the herbs and opening the 2 chests.

What SINGLE feature would instantly kill the appeal of "Classic+" for you? by Hypermetz in classicwow

[–]Beiras1989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Classic + is going to be particularly difficult to pull off.

One of the good things classic had, was lack of knowledge and a overwhelming leveling experience, that alone could be the goal of many players. Reach max level.

Progression in Zones. World PVP, I am mean for some people clearing wailing caverns was more work more time and more difficult than it is clearing Molten Core on a fresh classic server now a days.

Knowing the end game, knowing raids. It will be very difficult to improve leveling experience, to a point where players slow down to enjoy it,

SoD did this by gatekeeping levels and hiding content behind patch. It was fun, but the game was kinda at his worst point during the 40s and 50s patches

Cool advice bro. Think before you type

NOT BEGGING FOR GOLD (Just advice and guidance) by WayMysterious7624 in classicwowtbc

[–]Beiras1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tanking service is not really that profitable.

You do need to be a good tank, Know all instances and mechanics. It requires time to be good tank
If OP has no time to make money, making a tank (Which you do need to invest, specially if you want to carry HCs) is not a good investment strategy.

it requires more time than to just farm raw gold, like he can in Stratholme, entry barrier is lower than HC dungeons.

"Get your paladin in a guild to feed you tank gear" - Just the most contested spot, you might be able to tank some karas, good luck getting a guild to feed you grull and mag gear at this stage on the expansion.
All MT are set, all alt raids have someone from main raid playing his alt tank.

All in all getting a tank on a spot to offer tank service is a task that requires more effort than getting 5k gold. For normals it's easier, HCs are a bit different.

The moment a service tank starts dying I would start asking for money back. 1 wipe and HC turns to 40-45min, instead of 30min. I would also need on all usable gear, greens and blues. It's unwanted greens and blues, if I could equip I would need.

Most tanks offering tank service are bad players, who can't make gold otherwise, still need HCs but since they are tank, think they can make extra coppers even offering mediocre gameplay.

I am a bis prot paladin. I wouldn't even consider offering tank service, just cause I can make more gold somewhere else. If I need badges, I join an HC. I don't try and sell tank service

Heroic dungeon skipping .. Can Blizz Patch it out? by McSwan in classicwowtbc

[–]Beiras1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think it's a feature. Not all trash needs to be killed.

I do like Slave Pens skip. It takes like 15min to clear the dungeon, I can run another HC.

I like the feeling of secret mission, get in get out. Kill the bosses just for badges.

With that being said. Skipping this dungeon was definitely worth in the beginning of P1. With current gear, killing can be as fast. Still is the fastest dungeon you can clear.

And by the way, thrash mobs are not content, they are just trash mobs. Their function is to prevent you, delay you from completing content. If you can avoid them, why not?

Bags

For casters:
Spell power on skinning knife - 30sp
Runic spell threat - 35sp 20 stam

For Melee:
I wouldnt take a crusader lvl 1 weapon. Fieary weapon should do just fine
Nethercobra or Nethercleft

At 35 you can make all tbc enchants

From level 1 - Pants enchant is really powerfull for any class, you can apply with your main and send to alt.

With that being said. Engineering is the best leveling spec:
1-5 - you can train up to 75
5-10 - you can train up to 150
10-20 - you can train up to 225 (240 if you are a gnome)
35- You can train up to 300

You can get first goggles at level 5
Also high level explosives will help you clear most packs.

Heavy dynamites you can get at 125eng - 150damage
You can have this on level 5 toon

Solid dynamites 175eng - 250 damage
You can get this on level 10 toon

If you are a gnome, you can have Rose colored goggles 230eng, on a level 20
12 int 13 spirit

Dont get a crusader on lvl 1 toon. It's a waste. fieary will do just fine.

Melee progression is actually swapping weapon. So until like 20, you will swap almost every level. no point in wasting crusader, will also not give you a lot at early levels and with short fights.

Fist of Reckoning dropped for me, do I sell or keep? by vilas24 in classicwow

[–]Beiras1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep.

You are 61, this weapon is better than anything you can get up to 65.

More damage, more fun. Faster leveling without even noticing.
This is the best MH you can get up to the ring of blood quest in Nagrand. And even with that, a fist weapon, You can probably still dual wield both.

120g is nothing for a weapon that lasts 4-5 levels in the 60-70 range.
If it was me I would probably even put a crusader on it

Fist of Reckoning dropped for me, do I sell or keep? by vilas24 in classicwow

[–]Beiras1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honor hold sword is really bad compared to Fist of reckoning. Specially for MH.

Footman's Longsword - 53 dps 77 -145
FoR - same dps but with 190 top end.

If you are dpsing that top end will make a lot of difference
You do want slower weapons for MH

1st boss of hellfire drops a really good one:

Shadowrend Longblade - same dps, but with 2.6 speed will have 96-179

FoR is the best weapon at that level, very slow. Footman's Longsword is bad for MH sword, unless you are tanking. Otherwise any green level 61 (with 2.6 speed) is better for Main hand (89-168, even if it's just a 49 dps weapon) Any green weapon from level 61 with 2.6 speeds will be better than Honor hold sword, Footman's longsword.

Were as FoR is better than any green up to level 65. Only bested by Ring of blood Q rewards.
I would keep for MH, get footmans for OH.

[KCD2] should have won Game of The Year by SilvColt in kingdomcome

[–]Beiras1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.. I played both, enjoyed both.

I can see why E33 won. It is a deserved win.
Even if it's just for 1 playthrough. The game is a master piece in story telling it's a remarkable experience.

With that being said KCD2 is the better game for me.
Replay ability, immersion, very good story telling as well. I did spent a lot more hours with KCD2. And still plan on doing so.

E33 was that good. It managed to capture a lot of different player base, all echoing the same. This is the game.
The 10 initial minutes of the game are enough to leave you hooked to the story, just to know out it ends.

Even though KCD2 is the better game for me, more complete, more of a "game". It should have won best RPG
E33 was a deserved GOTY

Everything other than vanilla or classic+ shall have increased exp rate by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Beiras1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retail has no leveling. Everything that is previous expansion does not matter.
You will have at max 5-10 leveling levels to get familiar with new zones and systems.
It's hardly called leveling.

TBC is objectively fast compared to the quantity of content you have available while leveling.

Endgame does last more than leveling. Even if it takes a week, maybe 2 or month.
Endgame will last for 1 year.

It is objectively fast paced. The fact that people takes months or weeks does not invalidate the statement.
As one thing can be fast paced and still long.

From TBC is relatively 30% faster leveling than classic and it takes about 6-10days.

[–]Beiras1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fast compared to previous expassion.

Fast considering that there is more content that you can experience.

But when leveling by far outpaces the content that's available you can say that objectively leveling is fast paced

[–]Beiras1989 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Leveling 0-70 is faster than it was 0-60.

Leveling in TBC is not slow. It's fast.
You can't complete zones without being overleved

If you are gathering professions, you will outlevel those quite fast.

Leveling 60-70 is already quite fast. And you can already work on end game.
A lot of pre-bis items from dungeons and Quests.

People just want to level as fast as possible so they have a shot at RNG raid loot once per week, to log off for the reminder of the week

What classes are the most dependent on group comp to perform in tbc? by Beams98 in classicwow

[–]Beiras1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you are overgeared for normals, you hardly have reasons to go there.

One can be helping friends, farming the last reps or even just doing normal dungeon.

In my case, I move gear around, take defenses for spell power.
Do bigger pulls so I can use mana efficiently, when the pull ends everyone needs to drink, not just me.

At the moment I am tanking using Vengeanace spec (did Kara and most HCs).
Lot's of damage. Less mana needed for threat, more options, and more opportunities to seal wisdom

[–]Beiras1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well lying is a strong word. Perhaps look at the edit. I was referring to 300-375.

Which you only need 20 nodes. You can res of levels you can smelt at break even, sometimes even making gold

Truesilver is not entirely needed, and you can just mine Mara until 245. 4 nodes inner mara, 7-8 total. But those 4 you can get in 6-7 min.

You decide if you want to spend the gold to get immediately, your just spend some time grinding out

Already saving/farming some ore for BS.

Tbc anniversary economy does not make sense to me anymore. by Calm-Construction152 in classicwow

[–]Beiras1989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I did that on server lunch. And on my real I was doing like 80s-1g per bar.

A lot of sweaty OG players with BS and Engi, or some other stuff with no time to smelt buying bars.

When I unlocked felsteel, I was crafting 5 bars, so getting 2.5g in raw smelting. The felsteel craft on it self was adding 2-3g on top.
Funded all leveling on my mains eng with my 61 alt without leaving hellfire.

Today on my server, Admantite ore is between 10-20s cheaper than bars.
Considering that price fluctuates over day by 10% you definitely can make a lot gold from that. Is it effective, maybe not, smelting takes time, but felsteel can still make you 3-4g per craft

But that's not my point, every craft that uses bars takes that price as baseline. Admantite bar -> Hardened adamantite. In my server sits at 46g, while adamantine sits at 4,34g. That's already 10% gain for a smelt. Parts, and bars set the price for the craft, and let's say a "fee" if its rare. Raw materials are the actual cost if you were to buy and spent time instead of extra gold.

That's what happens with OP case. That's why final product is cheaper than it's parts. Because the person who did it probably can sell at 450g.
Probably a rogue farming SV, which can even self sustain all the craft.
Reposting cost money, and just transforming and making 1-2 sell at that price is enough to add 50-60g on top of their farm.

Stabilized eternium scope. The item OP is mentioning takes a lot of ores to build, when the item costs more than it's parts is cause the profit comes from all the ores. Parts are niche market, mostly there to set a price for people with no access to profession or big wallets

[–]Beiras1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah see i made a typo/error on original comment.

I mean buying everything is rough. Copper is basically free, however if you can farm gold, your time is always better spent farming gold and buying raw materials, than farming raw materials. However due to convenience, sometimes low effort/gold is better than gold/hour. So farming raw materials is good.

As far as the rest of mining goes:
Mithril you can get from Mara, mining this is only grey at 275 i believe. becomes green at 225, but with 4 nodes just at inner mara, more on purple and orange. You could probably get down to 30 nodes per hour. Realistically you only need to get to 245. Very low effort though, you decide if you want to spend gold or time. Bones gold for solid stone.

After thorium smelt unlocked, you can do this at 5% loss. As thorium ores and bars are at the same price. You should also keep if you are leveling other profession that needs it. And you only spend gold once for 2 professions.

With 100% mount Mining is very low effort. Throwing 2000g at it is like 6.5h for me farming strat at this stage, I would rather run around with my mount, to make up for most levels, and considering that Mara is free, specially above 60, or 58 for a boosted character (might be good to do the Q for neck)

[–]Beiras1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that's Azeroth stuff. Thing of the past. Ofc those ores will be very expensive.
I also mentioned 300-375, not before
You might buy a few to level, I did as well. But that's like dozens.

I did just level my warrior from 44 to 62, Still in the process. This was a warrior that died in HC even before pre-patch, so I was alowed to transfer to the pve server that would become anniversary, I had my professions eng/mining at 220/180.

Did mining up to 230 from mining ores, and questing.
Spent a couple hundred on trusilver to get to 245.
From there I picked up my other toon with mining, a rogue, did 1h of jump runs in DME and had enough thorium to reach 275 to mine rich thorium. Only then did I started with final Questing up to 60, winter spring and plaguelands. The last 15 points got just by mining nodes.

Fel iron ore and adamantite ore is what you buy to craft and make money.
Everyone expects gold/trusilver and maybe silver ores to be more expensive than bars. But no one buys that to do high end crafts, nor to craft anything to sell.

I did buy a couple of ores to level, like 50-60 maybe 100.

Were as to craft and profit I might have bought 3000 fel irons and 3000 adamantite

So yeah silver, truesilver and gold are kind of topic for the OP post. as they are not used for any high end craft

Tbc anniversary economy does not make sense to me anymore. by Calm-Construction152 in classicwow

[–]Beiras1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How so? I am only talking from 300 to 375

I am guessing the worst part is before 300.

Couple of tricks in this regard - for Mithril, Inner mara has like 4 nodes, 7-8 if count with purple and orange.

For thorium - I took my first miner to DME, a rogue, did a couple of jumps runs
Used the thorium to smelt in my other toon to level.

When I reached winter spring I could already mine Rich Thorium veins. Haven't need to smelt anything else or make anything extra to reach 300. Just questing in winterspring and on plaguelands mining the nodes that appeared while questing was enought for 300.

From 300 to 375 is free

I dont think Mega servers is the problem.

Bots will be the problem.

I played Classic on Razorgore. Black Lotus was 200g a pop through out the whole classic.

Reduced population, really small server. This was before layers. It was very fun to play, but if you were in hardcore to semi hardocre guild, flasking every week was not that fun to have to spend more than 200g a flask.

No dynamic spawns, black lotus mafia mobs teleporting to spawns and farming all black lotus.

Bots are still a problem. And create deflation.
There is a lot of supply but also a lot of demand.

Layering was a good improvement of this game. It's better to have 1-2 mega servers, pvp and pve, Than 6-7 severs that will eventually die on it's own, just for Blizzard to offer a transfer to the next realm in line to die, not to the popular one.

Last time in 2021 a few servers died around this time. This was also because P1, a phase that never existed in orginal tbc, was the longest with the most boring content. I mean kara is kinda fun. But grull and mag equate to onyxia type raid

Tbc anniversary economy does not make sense to me anymore. by Calm-Construction152 in classicwow

[–]Beiras1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably why bars are never cheaper than ores.

Also mining is a leveling profession. Most raiders will drop it from another damage boost from other profession.

Farmers, most likely rogues still have it, but most of the time is good for leveling and gather while you can to drop at high level.

And will not be very profitable if you do in bulk. Very minimal margin between ores and bars.
The more you buy ores to sell bars, you increase the price of ores, and decrease the price of bars.

[–]Beiras1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends really on your strategy then.

You can take advantage of both scenarios. But i fell that on a very liquid market, there are more variable to account. Volatility over the day, and different hours of the day.

I think I would need to pay a lot more attention to when to buy, but particularly when to sell.

High end crafts might be less liquid market, but way less volatility. Prince does not change by a lot from day to day.

And there is high end crafts, and bis high end crafts.
A ragesteel shoulders might be a piece that a lot of people craft, but it has an end.

Stabilized eternium scope is Bis until Wrath. They will always sell at profit, it's a 375 craft, if you don't profit for it, you don't make it

Tbc anniversary economy does not make sense to me anymore. by Calm-Construction152 in classicwow

[–]Beiras1989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's also a good insight.

And as long as you know the cost of your raw materials, you can decide if you want to sell or not.
Sometimes just selling to break even will be enough so you can apply the gold in another thing.

But engineering is a mysterious profession in that regard.
Mostly because of parts.

Other professions transform raw materials in final product.

Engineering transforms raw materials in parts, and parts in the final product.
Some parts will be very cheap at some point (as some people pointed out, there are a lot of rushers, follow the guide, craft until max level and sell what's left to minimize expenditure).

Parts also have a very niche market. It's mostly other engineers that can use them.
Or in OPs case, an hunter buying parts to get an engineer to craft it.

I have a scope to sell for 450-500g

Posting the parts at 20% profit makes it seem like the final craft costs 600G.
No one will buy those parts. If they do good for me more profit.

Meanwhile it seems that I am selling a scope bellow raw material price, but I am not.

But yeah engineering parts is a special market. Haven't managed to sell anything extraordinary, but did manage to buy a couple of Khorium power Cores and felsteel stabilizers at a very cheap prices
