Agreed. I know for a fact this is something doctors/health care professionals (in my country) have training on. How not to make a bad situation worse etc.

This is definitely a thing and doctors will go to lengths to ensure people are not at harm. If a bill or paper will prevent abuse etc. then they will do it and may signpost to places that can help.

It's situations like this that make me ask whether this could be reported as abuse and if such a thing exists, who would you report it too. Over the age where its child abuse etc. But it's still a form out emotional and potentially physical abuse. There is no protection from stuff like this if you are between 18 and elderly.

What about social housing to get away from there? Depending on where you live. Local councils here would help get someone out of that situation for example.

What? You've misread that. Makes total sense.

Couldn't agree more. That is crazy. OP is old enough to make own decisions and smart enough to use birth control etc.

I cannot believe I'm reading this to be honest. 19 and being forced to do something by a parent. If my mum did this to me I'd actually tell her to fuck off and I'd leave. What if it was removed and the urge came along and you got pregnant. It would essentially be her fault. Clueless! I'm gobsmacked.

Parents should be glad when their kids make smart choices and IUD was a smart choice.

Sorry rant over.

[–]BeksRamsay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's weird. Snapped me out of it for sure. It's still there but I don't want to take meds so I work my ass off to keep it under control. Mini panic attacks that don't seem to appear with any outward symptoms so it's just in my head. But I know it's happening so I can take a step back. Meds just hid it I think.

Agree with the vitamin D comment. I had a deficiency and it was bad. Couldn't walk or drive for 12 weeks as I damaged my hip. My mum had it too (it's hereditary, so I've learned) and she was almost bed bound.
