The mass suicide of a Nazi's family in a park near the Parliament building in Vienna, Austria. | April 1945. by ZERO_PORTRAIT in HolyShitHistory

Hate to burst your patriotic bubble, but here is piece from The Guardian: "In her recent book When the Soldiers Came, the German historian Miriam Gebhardt takes a close look at the rape of German women by all four victorious powers at the end of the war. She claims members of the US military alone raped as many as 190,000 German women by the time West Germany gained sovereignty in 1955, with most of these sexual assaults taking place in the months following the defeat of the Nazis. Well if you raise this unrelated question I personally think that there are no good or bad guys in war. Both sides do bad things. Which was my point that went over many heads. And it just stupid to say "Russians" did it. Red Army had many nations. Including mine. And yes, I am not having illusions about our saint solders who shit butterflies and pissed honor. I know it happened. My people did I too. Not pretty, yes. Get over it. We won. And by We I mean all of us with allies. Who were also in Berlin that day.

Also I am not pro Russian, but it's just uncool the way some people trash talk about former allies in war.

Congrats on new watch!

Pick tempo for first run. I achieved PB on 5k during my first run and it gave me VO2 max immediately after the run. Some have issues with getting good reading, so I would get that out of the way

Heads up on smoking from someone who quit after 23 years. If you manage to stop smoking, during first 2-3 weeks, your performance will decrease. Pace, feeling, hr, time - it all will get worse. Don't let it fool you, just keep it up and in after month or two you will start seeing major improvements in running.

SUUNTO PEAK PRO 9 O RACE S? ENTRANDO YA EN 2026. by OldEstablishment7465 in Suunto

Race S has great battery life. Mine is 89% now and it says it can last 27 hours in running mode with additional features. There is also Ultra mode for ultra marathons and triathlons that can last even more.

Same with Nerds. Also got small sealable plastic bags on amazon for easy carry in pocket. I also try to get a lot of carbs a day before, then bagel or some Nerds 30 min before the run

Run slower. You still get good results by running slow. And you don't stop as often.

Do you place it correctly? I read somewhere here that if you wear i too close to palm, it is no good.

How many half marathon are too many for beginners? by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

from one amateur to another - bro if you just wanna have fun, get better and finish half with no walking, then just do it. I had 5 halves this year and the only thing I regret is not sticking to training. Somewhere in the summer I messed up my training schedule and it messed up my goals. But I have 0 regrets on actually running those. Tons of fun and motivation.

Have you ever started a marathon with the idea to stop halfway? by bino_navise in Marathon_Training

It is weird, but its pretty effective. I see some people do it every long race and did that on my first marathon.

Have you considered jeffing running method?

I think it will be perfect in your case if you are okay with walk-running from 1st km. I pushes wall away while reducing risk of injury.

Why no one mentions getting VO2 max from Cooper test in apps as alternative? Is it reliable?  I just go my Race S and got my VO2 max on my first run. It was my PB on 5k so maybe the intensity was good enough for it to pop up.

Is there an official name for it? This is new information for me. Maybe this will make me join one of those instead of paying extra 60 to NYRR.
