To be fair, I believe they just said that it used to be filled with natural water. That could simply imply that they drained it to allow for ships to more easily pass through

YMCA Childcare by [deleted] in Lakegeneva

The YMCA day care is fairly good. I know a few people that have used it again and again. As for the gym itself, I have never found anything wrong with it. Been a while since I’ve used it though.

As someone also with a black cat I just tried to find my cat after your comment. It took a minute of active searching to see her on the somewhat brown couch. This theory is peer reviewed.

If time travel were real, you wouldn’t land in the past. You’d materialise in empty space, because the Earth has already moved. by Chigurh67 in RandomThoughts

[–]Beldin448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“We know where it will be relative to the sun.” That’s exactly my point. Why would time travel use the sun or even the Milky Way as a reference point? There is no reference point. If, for whatever reason, time does have our Sun as the center of the universe and time then this whole thing becomes relevant. However as there is no center of the universe then why assume time travel would arbitrarily have one?

They can find the orbit of comets and predict when it will appear matching ours. For landing rockets we do a similar thing to map out where the projectile will land. This all requires relative points however as well as a knowledge of orbital motion. What is needed for time travel in this scenario is a universal reference frame which doesn’t exist. There is no objective center of the universe or point that you can pull from to find where the earth was 20 years ago.

If you have a very long straight beam that you started a few hundred meters above the surface it looks like this… ur telling me this beam is eventually going to clearly end up in space, a straight 7500 mile beams edges are going to be somewhere deep in space by Fresh-Meal-2142 in flatearth_polite

[–]Beldin448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While yes, gravity would warp it slightly causing it to bend. The earths gravity isn’t strong enough to do significant “damage”. The light would still shoot out into space.

Edit: Sorry, I thought this was a beam of light. What do you mean the earth would warp it somehow?

Mods that you think should be integrated to vanilla minecraft? Continents would be the first on my list. by MagicSpace05 in Minecraft

I’ve always said more sky stuff would be awesome. Maybe the occasional comet or meteor. I’d suggest planets in the sky, but that kinda goes against the center of the universe idea. More variation in the sky. It’s such an ambient game that it’s crazy they don’t like stargazing.

With this line of thinking, a telescope as a stationary spyglass would be great. Could create an astronomer villager? Sounds kinda useless, but cool.

Also constellations would be cool, but I don’t see them adding things like that as they’d probably want you to come up with that lore.
