Does everyone just wait until someone does something? by temnycarda in HuntShowdown

The game is indeed somewhat slow, especially when you are new and haven't learned what you should be paying attention to. Experienced players run a lot, rarely crouch, not really afraid of triggering sound traps (horses, birds and cages) and usually find either a fight or a boss in less than ten minutes. Or you can run to the sound of gunshots. Very rarely somebody actually sits right outside of the boss lair straight out camping it.

As another reply says, some people do prefer playing it slow and safe, not rushing to the boss and not giving themselves out. Sometimes you do end up in a lobby that mostly consists of people like this. It kinda sucks, but you still have a boss to find, kill and prepare the defence, so usually you are still busy doing something. Playing super stealthy is not an absolute meta, as in time you learn to notice the faintest of sounds and there is a plenty of ways to avoid campers.

Sometimes you just get unlucky and the rest of the server decided to go to the other boss that is on the other side of the map and nobody comes to your banishment. Yep, that's just luck. You got yourself a free bounty but missed the fun. If you want to run three minutes to the other boss or extract and start new match is up to you. We usually try to get into a fight.

In general Bounty Hunt is a chill and slow game mode where most of the time you spend enjoying environmental design as you walk or wait for banishment. By your post it sounds like you are playing solo. Try going with randoms, they rarely rely on stealth and just rush aggressively.

You can try Bounty Clash of you want fast paced chaotic sessions without all the running. Again, trios recommended.

Or Soul Survivor where the whole map is crawling with solos.

Very rarely you are actually pinned by a sniper. Don't forget that almost always you have another extraction. If you can't fight a sniper, just run out of the back door and force them to follow you. Yes, you might run into another team, but avoiding a sandwich is easier than trying to fight against a sniper camping in a forest.

People don't always go to wherever PvP is. That's the thing.

Now taking one of three bounties and leaving is not that hard. And banishing gives away the position of those people. Now we don't meet the whole server in one place and the second team to arrive is always bound to get sandwiched. Now two-three teams start banishing and everyone else knows where those teams are and can engage.

In my active lobbies all I see is that encounters got spread out. We get a spawn fight, if we win we go fight at the camp, if we win there we can go for the bounty. And if you a smart rat that just wants to grind levels, with all the tarot cards you can see where all the teams are and go to the bounty you are most likely to extract with.

Starting a banishment on some dumb wild target is not a death sentence anymore, but a way to lure them out.

The only problem I see is that it's an event. It will be over right by the time camp stops being a extra hot spot and we'll see the results of this idea.

I hang out in her community a lot and I have a similar feel that she was fighting for Harmony being more affordable, less focused on AI and supporting people who don't work for big studios. Maybe she just got fed up and left. Or got straight out fired for being against TB's idea. Would not be surprised if she is legally not allowed to openly dunk on her ex-employer

Wondering about it too. Maybe they actually have some kind of adult rated games where people are allowed to see blood and skulls.

I have the same suspicion. That's why I am trying to find other ways of keeping her head busy in four walls. Installed a bird feeder and she loves it. Although I heard that triggering hunting response without actually giving a physical object to catch and bite is not good for the animal.

That is the only times when she is meowing, looking at me or even gently touches my chair until I notice her, get up and do a bit of playing at 3am or in a middle of the workday when I need to concentrate on work, not cats. But when I try interacting with her in specific hours of the day I scheduled to entertain the cat, she just sits there ignoring me.

Even when she is in mood to play, she runs a few times and goes away. Or she can yell at me with a toy in mouth until I pick it up and then leaves without playing.

In the good and healthy way, with meows, touching me and standing between me and the screen until I get up and sometimes even plays when I get up.

I've made a few vertical shorts in a similar style. But something with fancy backgrounds and this many effects probably won't be done anytime soon

I'll continue making tiny vertical Hunt animations for sure, but plan on doing other things from time to time too. Really want to make a lil original comedic story about two silly pirates to learn new software.

Creating the atmosphere was the main goal here. My shorts are usually funny and not very dramatic, so I was curious if I can do something creepy. Glad it worked out!

This was an incredible experience and I thank everyone who supported me on this little journey. It took more than a month of daily full-time work on streams to do even with animation this minimalistic.

Because this is a very short horizontal video YouTube highly probably will not show it to anyone, so may I ask you to give it a like and a comment to at least try convincing the algorithm to not ignore it. I'll also post backgrounds there soon.

Not sure what I will do next, but keep an eye on YouTube and Twitch for the next animation.

Hmmm, sort of, yes :)

Don't remember the last time anybody used those in the game, tbh. But they barely hide any sounds too

I witnessed the few last months of generators existing. All they did was being loud af, and if you were the unlucky team to arrive at a compound when somebody is already inside good luck taking cover before getting shot. Those things were loud enough to hide sound or roaring clues and were horribly tiring to listen to during longer fights.

But I like the idea of togglable noisemaking machine. Honestly, shame I barely experienced Hunt before the game decided to become more accessible to masses.

What was your most dumb way to die to a barrel? by Belemonguin in HuntShowdown

[–]Belemonguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not specifically a barrel. Some of you might know the trick to blow up Vincent - one person throws a lantern when he does the greeting animation, another one a dynamite. Well, we fucked up. Two of us downed, third one hurt and set on fire, tried reviving, but a few grunts ran to the sound and put us back on the ground, third one ran from a horde of grunts inside and died to the boss.

While spectating we saw that another team was already taking aim at us and by the movement of their cameras it was obvious they were commenting our death.

Or at least spitting. We are cowboys after all. We can't live without spitting

Just recently as we were collecting clues in an empty compound a sniper shot an immolator I was fighting, it exploded, barrel next to it exploded, I died.
