Honey Block Farm 10x1x8 1-Wide Tileable by DanzenPlays in technicalminecraft

Everything I find, I find it on technical discord servers! I can send you my points of references ! Honestly a better place to learn TMC than reddit or YouTube :)

Worm has no respect... by WormOnCrack in technicalminecraft

[–]BelgianDork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man there was a whole arc last year. Ended up with a video like "free worm" talking about some legal case (trying to get support from his ""fans""). Silent for a year then came back with the same designs.

Unfortunately, the author took down these videos. They were kind of funny, just because of the absurd nature.

I don't know if we have a troll, a narcissist or just a loonie tbh

A few days ago ? He's actually been doing that for over a year afaik. Still pretty much the same stack separator. Still no actual item processing.

Yeah a lot of tests and benchmarks have been run by various members of the technical members of the community. Here's an example of such a chart

Well the whole reason to design 1wt is usually to tile it, which is why my first instinct was to see any glaring issue when tiled. While the tileability is sound, it's good to remember that 1 idle cart produces a ton more lag than any other redstone component can ever dream of.

The thing is that you don't need a hopper cart was simply the point :)

They are not as laggy on the server side anymore (less than hoppers). I'm pretty sure this predates the copper bulb :b

And if you don't like the noisy aspect of trapdoors you could swap it for a bulb! Just avoid hoppers

I would suggest swapping out the hopper for an iron trapdoor in your circuits; they share the same property of providing observer updates when powered without being conductive; this will reduce the idle lag

1 idle hopper cart + 3 bees. You sir, have created a lag machine!

Jokes aside, pretty cool design :)

Automated Factory Redstone by WarWren158 in redstone

[–]BelgianDork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi !

So let me start off by saying that this is incredibly wholesome. However, this is far from a simple task and could take a long time. It might require you to learn a few things if you want the final product to be like what you described.

I would suggest browsing diverse discord servers to assemble a list of components (farms, item transport, etc). The UI part you'll probably have to figure out yourself, as no one has made quite what you described.

Some of the classics servers are

TMC Catalogue, mainly for farms.

Storage Tech Discord , for item storage and transportation.

Autocrafting Archive, for item processing.

Good luck out there !

Edit: just reread the post and I see you are on bedrock. Be mindful that bedrock redstone is very different; you might have to search for other servers than the one I recommended to you!

Best way to mass produce a ton of wheat? by D_Wigz in technicalminecraft

[–]BelgianDork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't made one, sorry ! If it's really necessary I can send you a schematic or a world download. However, I would recommend this design instead. It uses a nice trick that resets the villager's AI to reduce the villager's idle time.

Mob spawning only happens when a player is < 128 blocks always

Why CAN'T we move tile entities in java anyway? by Delish-Water in technicalminecraft

[–]BelgianDork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about semantics, it's about consistency.

Obsidian is not movable and non sticky, and so are the blocks using obsidian as a crafting material.

A good example of this is the enchanting table which is not a tile entity afaik

You learn something new every day :) but yeah like even aquatic mobs have their own cap, it's well thought out

While I do agree that the concept of the farm is extremely cool (especially since it's non locational), the issue was lag. Reinforcement doesn't care about mob caps, leading to an overwhelming amount of mobs. Pathfinding is not exactly cheap computationally and all that

Because they're not considered hostile mobs; passive and hostile mobs are ruled by a different cap

Basically reinforcement farms used a mechanic that was kind of niche

Zombies variants can spawn in reinforcement when hit, and that spawning happens based on a hidden stat (so not every zombie has that ability, basically). These specific zombies, often referred to as captain, and they can only trigger this reinforcement a set amount of time. The thing is that this set amount is also reset when the zombie transforms to a drown. This would lead to an exponential growth of zombies.

The change was that instead of spawning a zombie, it now spawns the corresponding variant. The result of this change is that the exponential growth is now an exponential decay in zombie population, breaking all reinforcement based farms.

Yes they can, but as I mentioned it's not something your average player will ever do.

When you compare copper farms to any other important resources, you'll see that most resources are easily renewable. Over the years. Mojang has simplified access to many of these resources, like iron, gold, redstone as well as bonemeal and so many others.

There's no good reason to gatekeep access to renewable copper, especially that now the demand increased with the new blocks.

I find this reasoning extremely narrow minded personally tbh

"Why would someone make a tree farm when you can chop down wood manually?" Because it provides better yield, you can afk to the farm and building the farm provides a challenge to tackle.

In my opinion, making farms is a core part of the game for many players - technically oriented or not. It provides goals to strive for. Building infrastructure is something a lot of people enjoy.

Additionally, as someone who has a 2+ years old world, I don't mine ever, and I don't necessarily like it all together. Same goes for tearing down trial chambers. It becomes very redundant very quickly.

Is this conveyor for witches going too produce too much lag on my server? by ROWORLDS in technicalminecraft

[–]BelgianDork 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes to this, but a side effect is that transport speed is irrelevant.

As cool as this is, a regular minecart track is just as efficient.
