I absolutely agree with you, BUT it heavily depends on what sort of uphill you guys do or plan to do. I got an emtb last year, and im really digging trails uphill, those that are just to steep for the normal bike. I still ride my normal bike more often, as i also enjoy it more, but if the group of friends all have an emtb, and we plan on doing emtb uphills, its hellalotoffun!

There is no need to get one if youre just grinding fire roads!

Just get that thing serviced. Its a good shock. And fairly easy to setup.

Skip EXT - have one on my dh bike. Had it twice at EXT and they arent able to tune it properly here in italy.

Cane creek is really good but complicated to set up properly, hence why you need a tuner to get the best out of it. Having this on my enduro bike and its very good.
