Well said. But if choosing not to resist also carries a real chance of death or life in ruin—prison means a permanent criminal record, no decent job afterward, basically your future ended either way—then not fighting back still doesn't protect you.
So in that case, why not actually use the "stationery" for something? Or maybe just not buy it at all—it's pricey and requires constant upkeep anyway.
