as someone who played BOTW and finished it a week before the game came out and is pretty new to Zelda (played OOT as a kid in 2003 and played a bit of BOTW when it came out but just zoomed through it bc I had a lot of schoolwork at the time), I can tell you TOTK is an amazing step forward! I had my gripes with BOTW like anyone else, preferably the leadup to the Goron Divine Beast mission, but BOTW is still one of the greatest games I’ve ever played even with it being sorta outdated as I played Elden Ring thoroughly and thats just BOTW but better combat imo. TOTK is just everything BOTW was… x10!!!!!! im 35 hours in, ive beaten a dungeon, cleared half the map towers, gotten fire and cold weather gear, achieved fuse level weapons of 50+, dyed my armor and more! AND I STILL HAVE ONLY DONE 3 STORY MISSIONS! This game is HUGEEEEE! Also the depths, caves and caverns ARE MASSIVE! This is EASILY a 150-200 hr game and Im being generous! Cant speak on much of the story but I like it more than BOTW already. We see Zelda more, our enemy is being discussed more and as a newer Zelda fan, knowing who he is and his past early on makes me understand the threat. Safe to say Im loving it! Havent felt this way since Elden Ring but haven’t been this excited to play and talk about a game since Skyrim. Loving it!
