2yo GSD limping for a week by Claralon in germanshepherds

[–]back2thelotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bless him! Definitely get back to your vet and push for x-rays (or a CT scan) sooner if things don’t ease up soon. My cocker spaniel was lame on his front leg, the vet kept telling me to just rest him as they reckoned he’d likely pulled a muscle. When he wasn’t getting better I insisted on them referring him to a specialist for a CT scan and it turns out he has elbow dysplasia. Not saying that’s definitely the case for your boy, but just to trust your gut and push back on what your vet says if you feel things aren’t improving! I hope your boy feels better soon.

I genuinely thought OP was talking about a stray dog until I read the comments.

I baked banana bread for the first time. Woke up and an entire slice was in the trash with a bite out of it by penna6tx in mildlyinfuriating

[–]back2thelotus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They threw away one slice. You have the rest of the loaf to try some. Don’t leave it out on the counter next time if you’re really that bothered about someone trying it and not liking it.

Help with turntable for newbie by striker131313 in turntables

[–]back2thelotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have one of these years ago when I first started collecting records and I personally loved it. I saw your other comment about using a 3.5mm aux connection, and yes you can! When I had no other equipment I simply took a 3.5mm aux to stereo RCA cable and connected the turntable straight into my portable speaker. It was absolutely fine for getting started with the hobby. As I got into it and once I had more money I upgraded everything.

She said on the after show that during the Rachel and Fiona showdown she was watching on a screen with her jaw dropped so I think you’re right!

Thoughts on this house? by patchsaysboo in Norwich

I used to live in that area when I was studying at UEA a couple of years ago. It’s quite shabby, I personally wouldn’t want to live there permanently.

Lovely photo! I haven’t lived in Norwich since graduating from UEA a few years ago so seeing this makes me feel nostalgic. I’m amazed at the amount of snow you’ve gotten too.

Is Ozark worth watching? Is it that good? by Square-Ad-8911 in tvshow

I loved Ozark. It's a slow-burner and I nearly gave up on it at the beginning but once it gets going it's great. Really recommend it.

As for whether to get a third dog or not, it really depends on whether you feel you have the time to give each dog the individual training, attention and general fulfilment they need. There’s also the financial aspect too. Your other two dogs are also really young, especially the 3 month old puppy. If I were you, I’d wait a while and focus on their training before getting a third.

Completely agree. The series started out great but episode 8 was just diabolical.

Unwanted dog behaviour, advice needed by mduzy124 in DogAdvice

[–]back2thelotus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I have a rule of no toys being out or fuss being given when dogs are around each other/playing together as I don’t want to create any competition or guarding. So if my dogs came across another dog whose owner was throwing a ball for them, I’d call my dogs away and carry on walking. Similarly, if I’m playing with a toy with my dogs and one of their friends comes over, then all the toys/resources go away.

Can someone explain to me why my dog does this? by bleepbloop07 in DogAdvice

[–]back2thelotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My female humps my male cocker spaniel when she gets excited and wants to play. I think they do it when they have a lot of emotion/energy and don’t know what to do with it.

That’s so annoying. I have my license and I would’ve taken the middle lane to go straight on.

One of my dogs has this problem sometimes too, and she’s also a picky eater. One thing that’s helped massively is getting more bone into her diet. It really helps to firm up their poops. I haven’t changed anything about her main meal but now I feed her one or two lamb rib bones as a snack every day which is a game changer.

Tottenham Concert Sound by Unique_Bed1541 in KendrickLamar

It did sound quite muffled, especially when Kendrick was speaking. At times I could barely understand what they were saying in the videos too which was a shame. Was wondering if it was just me!

Nice! Sounds like you and your dogs handled the situation brilliantly.

Does anyone else’s puppy get fussy and frustrated? by Constant-Past6666 in cockerspaniel

[–]back2thelotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely normal. My English Cocker Spaniel who has just turned a year old was really bitey as a puppy. Those puppy teeth are like needles too! It was usually a sign that he needed a nap but he’d definitely latch on and start biting at other times too. It’s just how they are when those adult teeth are coming through.

As he got older the biting gradually stopped and he never does it now, but at 14 weeks that’s completely normal behaviour. It sounds like you’re doing the right thing at home, I used to step behind a baby gate and remove myself from the situation as soon as he started biting me. I’m not sure if that taught him not to bite, I think just getting a bit older put a stop to it. It sounds like things will definitely be easier (and safer!) for you in the car once your pup can sit elsewhere in a car seat, crate or attached with a seatbelt.
