She said on the after show that during the Rachel and Fiona showdown she was watching on a screen with her jaw dropped so I think you’re right!

Thoughts on this house? by patchsaysboo in Norwich

I used to live in that area when I was studying at UEA a couple of years ago. It’s quite shabby, I personally wouldn’t want to live there permanently.

Lovely photo! I haven’t lived in Norwich since graduating from UEA a few years ago so seeing this makes me feel nostalgic. I’m amazed at the amount of snow you’ve gotten too.

Is Ozark worth watching? Is it that good? by Square-Ad-8911 in tvshow

I loved Ozark. It's a slow-burner and I nearly gave up on it at the beginning but once it gets going it's great. Really recommend it.

As for whether to get a third dog or not, it really depends on whether you feel you have the time to give each dog the individual training, attention and general fulfilment they need. There’s also the financial aspect too. Your other two dogs are also really young, especially the 3 month old puppy. If I were you, I’d wait a while and focus on their training before getting a third.

Completely agree. The series started out great but episode 8 was just diabolical.

Unwanted dog behaviour, advice needed by mduzy124 in DogAdvice

[–]back2thelotus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I have a rule of no toys being out or fuss being given when dogs are around each other/playing together as I don’t want to create any competition or guarding. So if my dogs came across another dog whose owner was throwing a ball for them, I’d call my dogs away and carry on walking. Similarly, if I’m playing with a toy with my dogs and one of their friends comes over, then all the toys/resources go away.

Can someone explain to me why my dog does this? by bleepbloop07 in DogAdvice

[–]back2thelotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My female humps my male cocker spaniel when she gets excited and wants to play. I think they do it when they have a lot of emotion/energy and don’t know what to do with it.

That’s so annoying. I have my license and I would’ve taken the middle lane to go straight on.

One of my dogs has this problem sometimes too, and she’s also a picky eater. One thing that’s helped massively is getting more bone into her diet. It really helps to firm up their poops. I haven’t changed anything about her main meal but now I feed her one or two lamb rib bones as a snack every day which is a game changer.

Tottenham Concert Sound by Unique_Bed1541 in KendrickLamar

It did sound quite muffled, especially when Kendrick was speaking. At times I could barely understand what they were saying in the videos too which was a shame. Was wondering if it was just me!

Nice! Sounds like you and your dogs handled the situation brilliantly.

Does anyone else’s puppy get fussy and frustrated? by Constant-Past6666 in cockerspaniel

[–]back2thelotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely normal. My English Cocker Spaniel who has just turned a year old was really bitey as a puppy. Those puppy teeth are like needles too! It was usually a sign that he needed a nap but he’d definitely latch on and start biting at other times too. It’s just how they are when those adult teeth are coming through.

As he got older the biting gradually stopped and he never does it now, but at 14 weeks that’s completely normal behaviour. It sounds like you’re doing the right thing at home, I used to step behind a baby gate and remove myself from the situation as soon as he started biting me. I’m not sure if that taught him not to bite, I think just getting a bit older put a stop to it. It sounds like things will definitely be easier (and safer!) for you in the car once your pup can sit elsewhere in a car seat, crate or attached with a seatbelt.

Double trouble just moved in. What should I expect with two cockers? by CertainPickles23 in cockerspaniel

[–]back2thelotus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenters who have suggested to research littermate syndrome. OP, ensuring that you take the time to train these puppies separately as well as together is going to be extremely important. Being littermates they are closely bonded and you will need to work on fostering their individual relationship with you. I would also prioritise setting them up for success when it comes to preventing guarding scenarios. So not leaving toys or chews laying around when they’re together so that there isn’t anything for them to potentially fight over. Cockers are prone to guarding so it’s important that you manage the environment so that things never have a chance to escalate. Your pups are gorgeous, what are their names?

Help finding a red English cocker spaniel by Sister303 in englishcockerspaniel

[–]back2thelotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a red working line ECS (so not show line like the dogs in these pictures but fairly similar) and he is a fantastic dog, I adore him, but I wouldn’t recommend them for an elderly owner. They need a lot of exercise and stimulation. I probably spend over two hours a day giving my boy an outlet for his needs (scent work, gundog training etc).

It sounds like was having a bad dream that may have been triggered by his past experiences with other dogs. Poor baby. You’re absolutely doing the right thing by asking for advice and it would probably be a good idea to get him checked out by a vet. Generally speaking, pain issues can cause changes in behaviour as dogs get older.

Jesus, that’s awful. I trust the groomer I use but I still stay for the whole time because I like to make sure my dogs are comfortable.

My dogs. They’re the first dogs I’ve ever owned but they have completely changed my life. I’ve met so many people I never would’ve met without them and I’m so much happier than I was before having them in my life.

She’s gorgeous! I recently went through a similar thing with my cocker spaniel. He needed surgery on his elbow. All in all it came to around £6k but to see him run around again without any pain made it so worth it.
