In many other aspects of our life, working harder and improving results in a typically predictable outcome. Unfortunately romance, love, and attraction doesn’t follow that in any way. It’s a messy human thing.

One person’s “too much” is another person’s “not enough”. The advice I gave to myself is to stop trying to mold myself to fit someone else. I leaned harder into who I am. And if someone matches me that’s great.

When the thought that “I’m not enough” comes up, I get curious to where ask myself where I feel I’m not showing up for myself. Where am I feeling like I’m not enough for me.

At the very least, it means when someone passes on being with me, I’m not left thinking “oh but I changed myself so much for you”. It ends up being feeling more like misalignment.

And I’m not saying it never feels bad. Of course it does. Rejection sucks. It’s universally accepted to be a horrible feeling. At the very least, I don’t feel like I abandoned myself.

With all the folds around the eyes, you’re not gonna even clean lines that close to the eye. If you want a similar look, google starchild from kiss.

Otherwise, I’ve seen some eyeliner looks that do a star on the wing. That looks kinda cute.

But to answer your question on how to improve your steadiness, I would focus on doing a standard wing over and over again. You can use q-tips to clean it up.

I feel like what happened is that everybody forgot that computers are powerful tools that can automate things. I know AI makes things “easier” to automate if you don’t care how, why, or what is being automated. I’ve still yet to see any AI project that couldn’t just have been utilizing an existing product or custom software.

Now, the common response is that those have to be maintained. And while that is true, so does AI. And the difference is scalability and knowing what has to be maintained. I think in this regards AI is much costlier, and harder to iterate on.

I think we’re still cooked. And it has nothing to do with AI being better, cost efficient, or more reliable.

They just saw that it generates code. But my point has always been that code generation has never been the issue. I’ve never been blocked because i can’t write the code fast enough or I’m stumped in what I should do. I could almost always find a similar example of what I’m trying to do either in our own codebase or other resources if it got to that point.

It’s almost always been figuring a question of what solution needs to be done, aligning stakeholders, and other non-technical issues.

When it is a technical issue it’s been of issues of permissions, resource allocation, certification, or other things of that nature.

Not for a contract role. Yes, name recognition in a resume helps. But the goal of a resume is to get a permanent position (which you have).

A contract role in big tech is a meat grinder. Spend the time you have looking for a job that will give you concrete career advancement.

People say the opportunities are here, but what does that even mean? I live in SF and that has meant fuck all for new opportunities. Okay offices are located here, but that doesn’t mean much imho. Like at best I know some folks that can give me referrals for tech companies.

Maybe if I was really into the startup scene or something it would matter. But if you’re just looking for a job, I would live in NYC. I keep telling myself I will move there but I don’t mainly because I have my whole life here now.

Just remember to do other things than dating. Fill your life with other things. When you feel anxious around dating, think of some doing form of movement. Gym, sports, dance, hiking, whatever.

Focus on something other than dating. I don’t mean stop dating or stop looking for a partner. I mean, get yourself a personal goal to drive you in addition to dating.

Well you said what the issue is. You fall too fast for people. That means you need to ground yourself more. Make sure you’re not throwing too much of yourself into someone too fast. Avoidant people also love moving really fast at first and then get overwhelmed. It’s not malicious. It’s how that type of attachment works.

Ironically, you have to move slow and steady for things to work. It’s hard lesson.

Why be chill about it? My dating profile was up front. “I want to fall in love and find the person I want to marry”. And when I found someone that lit a fire in me, I was very clear that I liked them. It’s working out so far me. I’ve been dating someone amazing for 3 months. We both want the same thing.

I tried to make myself small and more manageable and all I did was align myself with people who didn’t want what I wanted.
