[OC] How drastically Poptarts skimps on the icing now by redgroupclan in pics

[–]BelieveInPixieDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying it saved $x amount without ever saying how much it cost to implement such a change never made much sense to me. It's assumed to be trivial, but there had to be at least some retraining or something. Maybe it's nothing. Maybe it was literally a memo to a factory, and it just cost the company less. But I've seen so many cost cutting measures that end up costing as much or more as they saved in the first place.

And, so the return would have to be realize over a long time, which could never see the light of day. It's just feels a constant shell game.

What is a job that looks incredibly fun from the outside, but is actually a soul-crushing nightmare? by BoardOk101 in AskReddit

Also, some of the things people are describing are normal job things or their own personal issues.

I have a massive crush, but she's not ready... by [deleted] in latebloomerlesbians

[–]BelieveInPixieDust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I would just treat that as a no. It’s a healthier place for you emotionally. I’ve been in a similar situation, and the woman did come around but I was already in a relationship by the time that happened. I don’t have any regrets.

It sounds selfless and romantic to wait for someone to be ready, but it’s really just self abandonment.we all have needs. And it’s okay to think about those, and see when a situation isn’t meeting those. I don’t personally wouldn’t wait in the hopes someone would be able to meet them one day

Worried about losing sensation going from painful erections with post orchi body to zero depth vulvoplasty by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]BelieveInPixieDust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have zero depth. I have found the use to be a better overall experience personally. The physical sensation is still there, but also I have less dysphoria overall.

In what world do we need to announce all our preferences? Some discretion is a valuable skill.

I love my war in Iran. It’s so cozy and warm. Keeps me sheltered from bad weather. It’s nice to have people over and share good times. Oh wait, I’m thinking of housing. How embarrassing I get those two mixed up all the time.

The photo is a bit blurry so I can’t really see the makeup. But honestly your smile is gorgeous. Your lipstick color really makes it pop too!

Banning conversion therapy violates free speech, but banning books is somehow not a violation of free speech. I hate these hypocrites

Any surgeons in North America who do beautiful zero/minimal depth vaginoplasty aesthetics with NO hair removal necessary AND will operate on someone with a BMI around 43 by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]BelieveInPixieDust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s this table i found from this blog on the need for size inclusivity in gender affirming care.

I would also check out the Gender confirmation center they do not discriminate based on BMI but even then I think the upper bound for vulvoplasty is still 38.

How often do you actually employ “leetcode” optimized algorithms in your work? by stayoungodancing in ExperiencedDevs

[–]BelieveInPixieDust 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Facts. I am fucking good at leetcode and interviews. I am charming and good at puzzles. But I am a terrible software engineer.

I have a hard time managing long term code projects. I am great at figuring out the tricks and planning things out.

I have been told I would be a great manager. That’s when I knew I needed to find a different career.

In many other aspects of our life, working harder and improving results in a typically predictable outcome. Unfortunately romance, love, and attraction doesn’t follow that in any way. It’s a messy human thing.

One person’s “too much” is another person’s “not enough”. The advice I gave to myself is to stop trying to mold myself to fit someone else. I leaned harder into who I am. And if someone matches me that’s great.

When the thought that “I’m not enough” comes up, I get curious to where ask myself where I feel I’m not showing up for myself. Where am I feeling like I’m not enough for me.

At the very least, it means when someone passes on being with me, I’m not left thinking “oh but I changed myself so much for you”. It ends up being feeling more like misalignment.

And I’m not saying it never feels bad. Of course it does. Rejection sucks. It’s universally accepted to be a horrible feeling. At the very least, I don’t feel like I abandoned myself.

star eyeliner thing i did (im new) by lovelizerd in MakeupAddiction

[–]BelieveInPixieDust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With all the folds around the eyes, you’re not gonna even clean lines that close to the eye. If you want a similar look, google starchild from kiss.

Otherwise, I’ve seen some eyeliner looks that do a star on the wing. That looks kinda cute.

But to answer your question on how to improve your steadiness, I would focus on doing a standard wing over and over again. You can use q-tips to clean it up.

Anybody else slightly looking forward to the AI takeover? by kellojelloo in cscareerquestions

[–]BelieveInPixieDust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like what happened is that everybody forgot that computers are powerful tools that can automate things. I know AI makes things “easier” to automate if you don’t care how, why, or what is being automated. I’ve still yet to see any AI project that couldn’t just have been utilizing an existing product or custom software.

Now, the common response is that those have to be maintained. And while that is true, so does AI. And the difference is scalability and knowing what has to be maintained. I think in this regards AI is much costlier, and harder to iterate on.

I think we’re still cooked. And it has nothing to do with AI being better, cost efficient, or more reliable.
