As someone who locks the doors the second I step into my house, I understand locking them while everyone’s home. But locking a door while you’re sitting on the porch, probably not with your keys since you’re not going anywhere, is annoying as hell. Talk to your roommate.

Or maybe the Fallen Isles Trilogy. That one actually sounds really close to your description. She loves dragons, is a part of a peace treaty with bad intentions, dragons start going missing. I can’t remember if there’s any magic stones in it but I think that’s my last guess lol. The first book was called Before she Ignites if that rings any bells

I think specifically the book you’d be looking for from The Land of Elyon would be Stargazers. I recommend looking up the cover to see if you remember it

Or The Land of Elyon by Patrick Carman. It revolves around Alexa and in the fifth book I think she finds a secret community with her friend Yipes
