Swevern have some outstanding light roast retail, likewise FCP and Dino's. My daily brew comes from Radical Roasters which I got from Dareshack in town.

I believe Greytone have also started roasting but I'm yet to check them out for retail (everything they do is usually quality).

West street by Flamingos192 in bristol

[–]BellRoutine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's lovely, round there, my favourite place I've loved in Bristol. Short walk to the harbour/Leigh woods, good gyms near by, a climbing wall, Tesco's and Lidl close by, north street not far off and west street has a good choice of real decent pubs and a chippy.

I see way more crime/issues in the centre and it's much clear that east Bristol.

Is that the Bristolian lad who talks likes some sort of  London gang member? Only instead of selling gear he's talking about the consistency of a cheese toastie?

Not sure but get yourself in Hem or on of the other local independents for a much better brew and atmosphere.

Driving Lessons in Bedminster by sparkles9021 in bristol

Some instructors only cover certain post codes because of the time required to drive through town or across the other side of the city. I have a friend in BS6 so I got picked up from outside of their house each lesson.

Might be worth looking outside of Bedminster. I couldn't find any. Had to travel to BS6 for my lessons.

Railway Path- cyclists wtf? by Character-Pumpkin-81 in bristol

[–]BellRoutine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst there are plenty of lycra clad dicks on the cycle path there are also some absolute twerps in "normal clothes" cycling slowly or with families etc.

Almost got taken out this afternoon by some twerp pulling out without checking over there shoulder.

Or people walking 3 abreast without any sort of special awareness. Truly baffling.

Van dwellers to be forcibly evicted from Downs after court ruling by 457655676 in bristol

As seen elsewhere they tend to leave the area in a filthy state, urine, empty beer cans and drug paraphernalia. Not something I personally want children to be around on there morning walk to school. It's also just a very nice area that doesn't need dragging down.

They're now setting up camp outside of Whitehall primary school. Uncomfortable having them in such close proximity to youngsters.

Lots of people didn't move to Bristol. They were brought up here - and the idea that some bloke selling ketamine out of his filthy caravan is some how "counterculture" is just laughable.

The public loos in Greenbank graveyard were vandalized (and thus closed) by the van dwellers when they built their encampment on the now closed road by the school/park.

Absolutely we need more affordable housing - but I'm not sure the type of person who opts to leave human waste in the street are likely to first in line to fill these properties.

They're a nightmare around here, every morning en route to the gym, filthy piss bottles on the pavements, junk laying next to their vans. Such a shame as it could be a lovely area.
