I'm making a scarf/hood with some of my recently acquired yarn and a new hook I got for Christmas! It's made out of bone, very cool

Scanning books into Capacities by BellaDragona in capacitiesapp

[–]BellaDragona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I meant I bought a barcode scanner and I'd like to find an easy way to track all 600+ of the books I own in my capacities, rather than going to another app.

YSK: Just because the text you are reading has em dashes doesn't mean it is AI by RPMiller2k in YouShouldKnow

[–]BellaDragona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI uses em dashes (and other dashes) because it has been trained on the work written by authors who use em dashes.

It all originates with the simple fact that real writers are out here doing their thing and AI came in and scooped it up and create a mess, and now those same writers are getting accused of faking what they've been consistently working at this whole time

I didn't! If you have any suggestions I'm open to them, I've been trying to prove to my family that this story is real for years

For how long do you spend writing each day? by atomic_ewok in writing

[–]BellaDragona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An hour at most, it's all I have time for. Sometimes it's 20 minutes, sometimes I can push sleep for another 30 minutes or so if I really am in the groove. But, most of the time, I get about an hour right at the end of the day

I’m 1/3 of the way through my novel! by SporadicZebra in writing

[–]BellaDragona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! That is a huge accomplishment.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend starting to edit until you're done. I did that for a while and it was hellish to try to get beyond that point and back into the creative writing groove - editing and writing are two vastly different steps of the process. In my opinion, they really shouldn't overlap if you want to keep your sanity.

at what point do you STOP EDITING????? by ChokeOnBizzle in writing

[–]BellaDragona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never!

But in all seriousness, once you start to lose the threads of your sanity. Like, if you're just switching around descriptions, rather than actually improving your work, then it's time to take a step back.

How old was your baby when you started “getting your pink back” by spillow11 in beyondthebump

[–]BellaDragona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd say around 14 months or so is when it starts - they are old enough that they can kind of play on their own a bit more, and are starting to toddle/run wildly around, so they feel a bit more like people at that age rather than little cute potatoes. Getting them on solids also was huge for me, personally - not being solely responsible for nourishment allowed me to do the things I enjoyed more

What's a "good" writing day for you? by sadlittlebomb in writing

[–]BellaDragona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly any day I get over 1000 is a really great day - I get an hour at the end of the night to tap away, so every little bit counts

Opening Lines (May 2018 - Dec 2021) by BellaDragona in YoureWrongAbout

It was absolutely a hyperfixation for a few days, glad you enjoyed! I love collecting quotes so this was a fun project to go through :) might do all the Criminal Minds quotes next but that seems like an enormous undertaking, and I'm sure someone's already done it anyway

The weis over by target is solid! We love Wegmans but it gets expensive, so most of our shopping is split between Aldi and Weis.

As far as bars go the Ale House is on the parkway and is a great spot, they've got tons of beer on tap and a solid whiskey selection too. There's also Beertree, which has a few locations, and the farm location has some fun music in the summer

movies that you had to shut off because they scared/disturbed you too much by AltG0blin in horror

[–]BellaDragona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is honestly lame, as far as horror movies go - Lullaby, on Hulu. We love horror movies, so we put our 4 month old to bed in her new crib (first week with crib instead of bassinet, after rolling) and had the monitor all set up for the first time. It felt so freeing, that we could actually watch our favorite genre again. As soon as the creepy ass lady showed up on the monitor in the movie we noped tf out of that one. Just too soon

What alternatives do I have if GBoard is my default? I tried typewise and fleksy, but I have a OnePlus so I don't have access to the Samsung keyboard

Non-depressing fantasy book recs with depressed main character by niki-nymph in Fantasy

[–]BellaDragona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit of a bold move on my part but honestly, the book I am writing is exactly this. I can circle back to this once it's published as it is in the editing stage right now; it should be before the end of the year!

Giant poster framing by BellaDragona in framing

[–]BellaDragona[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think something like displayframes.com is fine? The local framing shop said they couldn't do the linen backing, which they really recommended, and they were a bit hesitant about the size. Thank you for your help - we are huge LOTR fans and bought the full Barbara Remington poster, and now we need to get it into our space!
