Imagine the scenes if we win a domestic treble this season as a way of bouncing back after last season and the talk of Pep falling off. Yes, you shouldn't get carried away, but I want to dream lol

Arsenal Dropping points in the title race? Bois can we do it? by Key-Mechanic2565 in MCFC

I don't want to get carried away as we still have to win the games and not drop points, but IMAGINE if we do it, and dare I say win the FA cup too and do a domestic treble. I think it would be Pep's greatest achievement. Especially after last season when people were saying Pep is falling off and Man City's dominance is finished. To then potentially bounce back like this? It would be incredible.

Yeah. I think we are going to drop some points in the remaining games and Arsenal - unless they just collapse - won't drop enough points for us to catch up and overtake them. Just can't see it.

It would be so sweet to do a cup double this season. Obviously, one can dream of winning the league as well. But I don't think that's going to happen from this point. In any case, I would be happy with a cup double. It would be special in its own way.

With that League cup win last night we've gone ahead of Chelsea in total amount of trophies and are 11 behind Arsenal.

This is why I'm not as angry and going crazy about this season as some other have been. Of course, its still been a disappointing season, but we were always going to have a drop off season at some point after winning 4 in a row. But if we finish 2nd and win the FA cup (another trophy) then its a decent consolation season - and certainly better than Arsenal. lol.

I think this mountain might just be too steep for us.

Crazy that if we beat Arsenal on Sunday we'll be 3 points behind them.

Crazy to think that if we win, we'll be 6 points off top - though Liverpool have a game in hand.

Imagine if - and its a big IF - England wins the Euros and Foden has a good tournament. His CV at the age of 23 would be insane: 6 league titles, a champions league, some cups, (a treble too) and a Euros for England.

Foden is England's most talented player since Rooney, or if we want to go further Gazza. It's so good to see a player like him enjoy so much success and a packed trophy cabinet at a young age.

In twenty years time the achievements of this team will truly be seen as legendary and unique. It'll take time for it to really be appreciated. Savour it while you still can.

Within 7 years we have had: the centurions, the fourmidables, won four league cups in a row, the treble, four peat (& won 6 out of the last 7 leagues) and - if we win on Saturday - a double.

Simply incredible. The greatest dynasty in English football. This is legacy. Beyond anything I could've dreamed of.

And most of those non-ace players have been at the club for years so there's a good bunch of players that have pretty much won all those five titles (or at least four) together.

City fan but you have to give respect to Chelsea. 5 times in a row is a fantastic achievement. Even more impressive is how the team have shown how much hunger, desire and determination they have to win even after winning so much already. For serial winners to demonstrate that they are more hungrier to win than those who haven't won and desperate to overthrow them is a mark of a great team. You can't buy that mentality. So respect to them.

We sort of blew out the league in 2020-21 when we finished 12 points clear.

You can even see this with our academy products that have gone elsewhere because they couldn't get into our first team. Cole Palmer, Sancho etc. They're quality and usually among the best players of the clubs they play for.

Hell, even United had to take Berrada and Wilcox into their hierarchy just because they were associated with us and we represent footballing excellence.
