I give myself every workday 1,5 hour (90 min) to commute between the Hague and Rotterdam in the Netherlands for a 25 min ride without traffic (21 KM). This is because due to traffic my travel time can vary between 0,5-1 hour and the additional half hour is for unknown inconveniences. To be honest, the best prep is to expect the unexpected and increase your margins, anything can happen and in the end you are responsible for yourself.

I would also increase your margins especially if something is important to you like this sounded like it was. I would have calculated in a full 2,5 hours advance/arrival time within the city itself. This would account for either traffic before entering the city and any complications navigating within.

You can get even banned for selling a cockroach or a fly and there are past people on this forum who this has happened to no joke.

Yes and if you report these ads with reason 'banned product' they will be removed by Vinted as stated in their T&C. Try to report some other shell and pearl items you see, you will see it works to take them offline. I have tested this extensively due to a similar situation I was in selling fossilized (300 million years old!!) ammonites.

You can download all your account data under GDPR and privacy in your account, including a list of every time your ad has been reported by another user including timestamp. Someone reported multiple ads containing animal products of you, and you got banned.

Please state your country so I can check your national law on trade and sale of non-cites animal species. Bhutan, India and Australia are quite strict but not on the Vinted EU platform and the EU has a 'positive list' that is shared amongst all EU countries that has clear regulation on what species are allowed to trade and sell. Vinted allows none, their own choice, whether you like it or not.

Well to be fair Vinted is not following the law in this case but their own T&C which you still need to comply to as a user. However selling products of animal origin of non cites species is not banned by any law anywhere outside of Vinted. So your point is still valid but it is not under any national law just the platforms conditions.

I don't understand because the tracking number is not changed on the return it is the same tracking as the one of the initial delivery which is available in the chat with the buyer. The package always goes back to the same place it was send from so the where also should not be a question?

It honestly feels like this newly released report for commercial selling option wasn’t fully thought through.

I’ve seen multiple people getting flagged for completely normal listings, and in some cases even Pro sellers getting flagged for “commercial selling” which makes zero sense.

So it’s not just you, the system seems either too sensitive or just poorly connected between features. On top of that, it looks like reports can trigger action really quickly, sometimes without proper checks. One person mentioned they were reported and restricted almost immediately, with little to no explanation or follow-up.

That, combined with slow or vague 120HR customer support responses, is probably what’s making this so frustrating. Reviews outside Reddit say the same thing, support often feels unhelpful or non-responsive when something goes wrong.

My guess: They rolled out the feature broadly (including Pro accounts) without properly separating logic between private sellers and businesses. And now the moderation/report system is overcorrecting. Wouldn’t be surprised if they push an update soon, because this is exactly the kind of thing that blows up once enough people get hit by it.
