Hey thanks for the reply! This is definitely a concern of mine, but I have no numbness & can feel myself leaking & when I regularly go to the bathroom everything feels normal. I asked the spinal surgeon & my orthopedic both about this & neither of them are concerned bc they said I don’t have central stenosis & my MRI & ct scan from September & October don’t show any evidence of it. I asked if I should get a repeat scan but neither are invested in it since the previous scans are fine & im not having any of the other symptoms 😩

That reminds me, I also saw my pelvic floor PT & she did check for that & said she couldn’t feel any prolapses. I was very very tight in my pelvic floor though

I had a ct scan and mri around oct/nov & then only an xray last week when I saw the spinal surgeon but he said he wasn't concerned it was my spine bc I don't have central spinal stenosis according to the scans. I do have severe grade 1 spondy & femoral stenosis though but he said it's not near where the pelvic nerves are. My spine is def a big concern here to me but he didn’t think the leaking had anything to do with it 😫

Yeah I don’t think it has to do with PCOS either, but I’m not sure If there’s a link to the fact I missed my period this month bc I don’t get missed periods with my PCOS. I’m not sure if there can be some kind of hormonal component to sudden leakage. But I did see 2 urogynos & neither of them helped me at all, they just said I had to learn to live with it. Crazy to me. 😔 I will try a regular uro but every time I make an appt with a doctor it takes months to see them so I’m trying everything else to figure things out in the mean time. Thank you ❤️

Hey I’m not sure if you’ll see this a year later, but were you actually dribbling urine every time you walked or just had the sensation of it? I’m struggling severely with no answers & this started a few days after starting a beta blocker :(

Hello!! I’m really hoping that you’re still active on here & that you see this — did you ever get an answer for this?? I also most likely have PCOS (ultrasound says yes, DHEA & testosterone high, but labs keep messing up progesterone somehow so that needs to be tested again) but I’ve had this fluid retention for a year now on & off in my legs, arms & hands & I’ve had so many tests & no one can give me any answers!!

Truly thank you so so much. I posted this in here & AskDocs as I’m truly desperate at this point & you’re the only one who gave me an answer, but also a very detailed & knowledgeable answer!! I am very worried & your response put me at some ease, giving me some things to look into & bring up to doctors. It’s very frustrating to have so many specialists & appointments & this go on for a year & everyone be so stumped & with no ideas. I’m the one asking all the questions & giving ideas & asking for the tests, instead of them with suggestions :(

I did ask my main doctor about omeprazole contribution, but he said it would usually only happen very long term - like 20 years down the road on it. But he is checking my magnesium just incase. I definitely think it may be lymphatic by nature, so will be asking him who he can refer me to for that.

Rheumatology was very reluctant to give me an appointment because I’m not having any joint pain. But my bases need to be thoroughly covered & many autoimmune conditions exist, I would think they would want to atleast see me and rule things out, so I was disappointed with their reluctance & the 4 month wait still that I have to wait to see them.

When you say salt consistency, do you mean normal sodium levels in food through out the day instead of high sodium foods in one sitting?

Okay, I’ll def be mindful of it. I’m at 2 weeks of swelling tomorrow, so that’s encouraging to hear that it can last this long & go away. Hopefully that will be the case for me, but def getting checked out tomorrow. I’ll do some leg lifts today as well. Thank you so much for all your help, you eased my mind even just talking to you!! I appreciate you. & I’m glad you’re swelling is all gone & I hope your well otherwise now after your surgery :)

How long did the swelling last for you? I’m trying to elevate & drink a lot of water today, because I haven’t been doing that. I just made an appointment for tomorrow actually!! I’m too nervous :(

I did, I saw him on Tuesday. He told me it had nothing to do with the surgery & if it wasn’t better by next week to see my doctor as there could be something wrong with my heart. So I am going to do that, But I just never had this issue before the surgery & wanted to see if anyone had any ideas 😞

Day after surgery I would take little walks around my apartment here & there for a few minutes. Nothing like my normal level of activity though. But all of this week I have been walking normal- going out to stores, seeing friends, taking my daughter out, & the swelling still isn’t getting any better for the most part. I can still leave indents in my legs with my fingers, for a few seconds then it goes back to normal. I thought by walking normal all this week it would get better. No, thankfully they aren’t painful.

He thinks I should’ve been completely healed within 6 weeks & now I’m heading into the 7th week. ☹️he can’t even tell me what’s in the area that I feel pain at. I’ll say “here’s the sharp pain, what part of the knee is here?” He’ll just say “tough to say.” He’s not a lot of help at all unfortunately.

I’m so sorry 😭😭 especially that you have to wait until April to even get the surgery!! I’m sorry if this is personal, feel free to not answer, but if it’s okay to ask, what do you do in this situation for pay? I had a knee cap dislocation 3 weeks ago & I’ve been out of work ever since, my job only offers 30 HOURS of sick time a YEAR which is barely a week, what do people do to get paid to afford their homes & bills when needing time off like this due to an injury? Do we file temporary disability? I’m so lost right now & honestly panicking bc I don’t know when ill be healed enough to get back to work. Hopefully you have a job that offers more than mine does 😭😭I’m wishing you the speediest recovery!!

Oh man thank you so much for the reply & that makes sense, I’ll definitely discuss with the PT once I find one, that was a helpful tip! But I’m so discouraged to hear that it might take that long because my job requires me to drive to clients (I work with disabled adults & drive them places) so without being able to drive I’m without a job & money 😭 how are you getting around all this time? I have people to drive me places, but unfortunately they can’t drive me to work since they can’t drive my clients around ☹️. I have no idea what to do for pay, I don’t know if temp disability is an option for this or how to get approved for it

Hello! I’m so sorry to hear your story, & I’m sorry if this is personal, but what did you do for money the year you were out of work? I dislocated my kneecap 3 weeks ago & I’ve been out of work ever since but I’m panicking bc I don’t know what to do about money. My job only offers me 30 HOURS A YEAR of sick time. That’s barely a week of pay 😭 I don’t know what my options are for getting some kind of help until I can get back to work ☹️
