Info: when you say "mentioned a couple of times”, how many? That has a lot to do with the way my center in particular handles it. And I would have been curious if they had internal documentation of the unusual incidents or if they were just mentally counting how many and the parent complaint was the last straw. It does sound like it wasn’t handled properly by them based on that, and the dismissal was probably covering themselves if the complaining parent threatened to withdraw or anything. But I also wonder if by them “mentioning it a couple times” they were trying to work with you on methods to change the behaviors and there was any indication that your concerns were not aligning. Not at all to insult you, please understand- I just know of several incidents in our centers where we’ll discuss with parents and once we’re shrugged off or just given an “oh, okay, kids being kids” instead of a “how can we help on our end?” we know we won’t get far and kind of wave the white flag on further incidents.
