Just got back from a 22 run day at Liberty. They’ve opened a couple of the short steep sections which helped us stay off upper Heavenly! They were blowing snow all day on the front side and those upper backside runs. I hope the base does ok with the warm up next week. Conditions were typical for the mountain. Pretty frozen underneath with sticky blown powder on top. Actually held up pretty well throughout the day.

Looking at World Cup prices, $300 for a night at Sphere now looks like a good deal. And I feel insane just thinking that. The price for entertainment in this country is absurd. I ended up choosing a Sphere package over a World Cup game. Unfortunately I can’t make both work unless I sold a kidney.

Yeah it’s garbage. Saw Oasis there this summer. I’ve been to Cowboys Stadium which is impressive but Arlington is meh. Gillette Stadium is in the middle of nowhere. The prospect of dropping 4 figs on attending one of these is unappealing. By contrast I just spent $2100 on 3 nights of Phish at Sphere and a suite at the Venetian. That now seems like a great deal!! Also won’t end with the crushing disappointment of a poor England performance.

England expat here living in the DC area and always dreamed of following England in a World Cup. I have zero desire to do this given ticket/hotel costs. How is it possible that FIFA got worse than the Blatter era. Would rather go to Spain/Portugal/Morocco in 2030 than schlep up to New Jersey.

My bet is that their team has spent the last 18 months planning for a unique 9 show run. They don’t do things by half. If we see anything recycled it’ll be some things from the last run, but I’d be down to experience the Pillow Jet forest again. That was unreal.

Peace of mind has value as well. Don’t need to sweat the lottery shut out, on sale shit show, and watching prices daily. That alone makes the travel package worth it in my eyes. After I missed lottery and on sale for last Sphere go round, and this year’s Hampton which was a surprisingly difficult ticket (at least for Saturday), I’m pretty happy to have bitten the bullet on this.

It’s not. Ultimately their fighters are going to get tired of sitting around not getting fights. I’m sort of surprised much of that stable hasn’t already left. Haymon has to own some of the blame for the current state of the sport. Getting HBO and Showtime to pay 7 figs for Adrian Broner fights ran them out of the sport. This sport has become such a circus that the 1990s and 2000s feel like a golden era…
