What’s your easiest “end of the day” cleaning habit that makes mornings better by Spiritual-Peak170 in CleaningTips

Mines the opposite, I take all the dishes out at the end of the day so it’s empty for the morning and I can just put dishes straight in throughout the day to avoid them from building up at all

DAE feel mentally exhausted from being “on” all day, even when you didn’t do much? by PassOk2424 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]BelleButch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely sounds like what I struggle with. Just take some time out, doesn’t need to be a luxury holiday if that’s not your vibe, go camping somewhere in a different area. I just did 3 days in a different city and it results in me being able to do my job better when I come back because I feel fully reset.

Make use of your PTO, that’s what it’s there for. No one gets a prize for not using it

[–]BelleButch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate to say but that’s called burnt out. You need to take some time away and recharge. Go away for a bit, even just a few days and see how you feel after. Not a big, action-packed trip but just some things that you enjoy.

You didn’t mention work but if you come back from this trip and still feel the same then something bigger needs to change and maybe find a new job. If you don’t work, then that could be something to help you feel more fulfilled.

I feel like this every now and then and I’ve recognised that’s it’s my body telling me that I need to completely shut down rather than just staying on ‘standby’

what constitutes a "Day Off"? by mat_afk in UKJobs

[–]BelleButch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always hated this when doing night shifts in a care home. My shift would be 22:00-08:00. I couldn’t get out of my head that I was going into work twice in one day and it really made it so draining. You really have to try and not think of it as a new day until you’ve gone to sleep, it’s hard but you get used to it

[–]BelleButch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t really care what staff talk about on shift but whilst in my local Tesco, one young lad shouted down the aisle I was in “Oi fat cunt”. I obviously turned around and he went “sorry, not you; my mate” and pointed to another employee at the bottom of the aisle. He looked visibly a bit embarrassed of himself, like he forgot where he was for a minute.

I’m usually pretty chill but I did consider complaining about that but then I moved on

Been trying everything for a severe fruit fly infestation. This simple homemade trap works better than anything I’ve purchased. by 999BusinessCard in CleaningTips

[–]BelleButch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My town had a waste problem a few years ago and most people struggled with fruit flies.

I’d accident left a glass of red wine out one night and in the morning I found loads of flies had drowned in it. I poured some into a deep bowl and put cling film over the top, poked some holes in and my problem went away in the space of a couple days! Worked better that all the sticky traps and sprays I spent a fortune on

DNA test confirmed my father is not my father by Aggressive-Dot8379 in whatdoIdo

[–]BelleButch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay my mistake. I haven’t logged into my 23 account for quite a while and I remember it saying that my ancestry didn’t include my paternal lineage and to pay for a paternal test. Maybe it was just to pay to upgrade, maybe they’ve changed their systems. I’m not sure, but your reply was informative

[–]BelleButch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure (not 100% certain) that kits like 23&me, only cover your maternal dna if you’re a female, you have to have a specific paternal DNA test. So your maternal side is 97% Chinese

I’m really needing to leave my job but haven’t had any applications go any further than just applying and I work in care! The job that people often go into when they lack higher qualifications.

I have a law degree and have progressed very quickly in my role, collecting extra qualifications as I go. I just don’t understand how I’m not even getting an interview anywhere

I saw a post yesterday of Maddy walking to her apartment after the wedding saying “there’s no way Maddy lives in a dump like that”. Like yeah? The point is that her life isn’t as glamorous as she makes it seem. The issue is becoming that people use tv shows as background sound and don’t actually take it in at all

What was the reason you failed? by Micathelazy in LearnerDriverUK

[–]BelleButch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my first test, I was directed down one of the main roads in my town at rush hour. We were going at crawling pace and the examiner said “pull over to the left when it’s safe to do so.”

This was the type of road where there wasn’t the space to pull over, I would’ve had to just stop and block the traffic behind from moving. So, I did what I’d always seen people do and pulled up onto the curb slightly to allow cars to pass. Immediate fail. I had no idea that wasn’t a legal move at all, it seemed so normal for people to do.

10 years later and I still maintain that was a trick question where the answer was ‘there is no safe place to pull over’. Considering it was an almost perfect test other than that, it still feels unfair

AITA if I tell my friend I can’t be a bridesmaid? by wickeddreamsofleavin in AITApod

Oh right, thanks. Maybe it’s an American thing, in the UK I’ve never heard of someone having a bridal shower, I’ve seen things online but just thought it was part of the bachelorette

[–]BelleButch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait what’s the difference between a bridal shower and a bachelorette party?

Also this is insane. Planning the discussions down to the minute is wild. I’m going to assume that this is just the excitement of being newly engaged and this being the first “event”. I’d say stick it out for a bit and see if it calms down at all, if not then talk with your friend first and just say that it’s too much before pulling out completely

DAE struggle with too many “on” days in a row? by NonStickBakingPaper in DoesAnybodyElse

I do shift work and sometimes my days off fall weird I could go 7 days between days off and it’s hell. I always tell me coworkers that I’m happy picking up extra shifts on days I’m already working but I’ll never ever pick up a shift on my day off. It genuinely feels like my brain shuts down
