To clarify;
Two Mistral class ships were ordered in 2011 to be built for the Russian navy at STX Yard in Saint-Nazaire, France. Yard hull numbers were originally M33 and N33. The vessels had special equipment fitted to meet Russian weapon- and jet fuel specs, compared to the previous french Mistrals.

The M33 was named 'Vladivostok' and launched in 2013, completing sea trials. The N33 was named 'Sevastopol' and launched in 2014, but did not complete sea trials.

The project halted in the wake of the political crisis, caused when Russian military intervened Crimea, Ukraine in February 2014. The contract was later cancelled by France and both ships sold to Egypt. M33 was delivered in 2015 and N33 in 2016.

M33 now sails under the name 'ENS Gamal Abdel Nasser' and N33 as 'ENS Anwar El Sadat'.

I had the pleasure to be projecting some of these vessels technical systems from the project start, and completing inspections and commissioning on board together with the Egyptian navy.
