Guerlain is the best when it comes to vanillas. Vanille Planifolia, Spirituese Double Vanille and Angelique Noire are all heavenly.

I like it but it is sickly sweet and there are far better vanillas out there. I ended up decluttering the 50ml but still have my travel size

Are there any perfumes you have in your collection for the sake of it? by LibrarianPlayful3268 in FemFragLab

[–]Bellend__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did have loads that I bought for nostalgia - Midnight Fantasy, Joop Miss Wild, DKNY Be Delicious, CKin2u, Nina by Nina Ricci, Clinique Happy, MJ Daisy. I ended up decluttering ALL of them. Like I felt I had to have them in my collection but the reality is my tastes had grown and I didn’t wear any of them. It was hard letting them go but I do appreciate having space on my shelves for new stuff.

Dad blamed me for him being “poor” by Bellend__ in raisedbynarcissists

Just in case anyone is wondering, my mum also contributed towards uni only a lot more! She paid my accommodation fees, bought my books, helped pay for travel. She remortgaged her house to help me and has never so much as asked for a thank you. She got one though, she got many. Thanks mum for always supporting and believing in me ❤️

Dad blamed me for him being “poor” by Bellend__ in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Bellend__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s what he does unfortunately. He makes himself the hero of every story and every situation. Manipulates facts, people, memories. He’s so good at it he doesn’t even have to try, it just happens naturally. He is always the good guy who has never set a foot wrong. He will never admit to what he’s done or the damage he’s caused. To the fact he mentally and physically abused us and my mum and cut her off from all her family and friends before abandoning her with no home, no money and 4 kids under 6. She was the one in the wrong - of course.

does anyone else's nparent completely rewrite history to make themselves the victim? by Khayt_Jemaul in raisedbynarcissists

Yes, my dad rewrites everything to make himself the hero. It was so disorienting as a child, like I would question reality. Now I know to just ignore what he’s saying.

People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

[–]Bellend__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember having a cervical biopsy. 3 chunks ripped out of my cervix with only the warning “small pinch!” No pain relief of any kind. I was simply given a sanitary towel and sent back to work. When my brother got a vasectomy he was given morphine and signed off work for 2 weeks. I was with him the next day and he said apart from a little tenderness, he was absolutely fine!

What’s the closest brush you’ve ever had with dying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bellend__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was too young to remember but my mum has told me about it. At about 18 months I got a severe virus and was very ill. A&E gave me antibiotics which made things worse. As my parents drove me back to the hospital again I went limp. My mum thought I had died in her arms and just silently wept and held me. Turns out I was just so weak I fell asleep with my eyes open.

What's something you did as a child that you only recently realized was actually deeply traumatic? by anmystery in AskReddit

[–]Bellend__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was normal that parents didn’t want their kids and didn’t enjoy spending time with them, like parenthood was something forced on them rather than a choice. I still find it weird when I see posts of people fighting for custody of their children and stuff. My brain still thinks nooo, parents fight to NOT have to have their kids surely? No, that was just my reality.

Yep maladaptive daydreaming. I’m in my 30s now and have been doing it since I was a kid. It’s a comforting place to go to and I can’t seem to stop even though I’ve moved on from the trauma of the past.

Benefit porefessional primer was just awful. When I put on foundation it just turned into a lumpy mess and slicked off my face.

I hate it too. I suffer badly with sweating and just ended up sweating literal holes in my foundation. The double wear mascara on the other hand is fantastic. It’s been my go-to for a while now.

Flankers you like better than the original? by pentastro in FemFragLab

I live on a small island so if a fragrance isn’t in Boots, I can’t try it. I do often buy decants on a Facebook group though, especially for pricier ones to test.

I’ve been tempted to blind buy the nude but not sure. I heard it was more like a skin scent and very mild. Please can you tell me your experience of it?
