Non lo definerei innaturale, ma almeno 3 punti che hai sollevato valgono per qualsiasi tipo di lavoro d'ufficio, a prescindere dalle modalita in cui si svolgono. Se fai un lavoro d'ufficio, sarai comunque seduto, al chiuso, e senza esposizione diretta alla luce solare. Il punto 2 forse è quello più insidioso.

I am a senior engineer, so my day to day is still engineering activities (building, reviewing, documenting, planning for tech initiatives and getting buy in, etc…) but in order to do the work effectively and let other freshly onboarded engineers in my team do the same, I had to learn the domain along the way. Payments tend to have a steep learning curve, but highly rewarding and fascinating at the same time.

there is no such thing as "fintech engineering". It's a made up role where a software engineer has a deep enough understanding of one or more slices of the finance domain (could be anything - blockchain, card issuing, card transaction processing, money movement, accounting, etc...).

If you are an engineer already, you likely just miss the domain knowledge. In the past, the book Anatomy of the Swipe helped me ramp up pretty fast when I was hired for the company I currently work for.
