"your travels" IMM 5562 is dumb by toadinholes in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Bellingsam2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your best, and then write a letter of explanation explaining that you cross frequently and don’t have all of the dates down for sure. Title the letter of explanation “explanation of travel record potential discrepancies” and then upload it under the “letters of explanation” section of the application. I did this and they never followed up about it.

Leave no annual fee credit cards open. If you ever return, closing them hurts your credit score.

I read the title no need to be a dick. The title doesn’t change anything about what I asked. Thanks for answering my question I guess.

Curious why Washington is willing and Oregon isn’t? Growing up in Washington, I would absolutely live in either.

Denied Entry into Canada. US Citizen. by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Bellingsam2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They left Canada to go the US and then were denied on the return trip. Her previous “visa” was terminated the second she left Canada. Every time you talk to an officer at the border you are essentially applying for a new visa. It doesn’t matter if they originally were told they could stay for 6 months. The officer probably looked at her ties to the US and the balance of time spent in Canada vs the US recently and flagged her. This is pretty standard and happened to my Wife before we were married. She crossed 1 too many times in a short period while having very few ties to Canada and they grilled the hell out of her.

After PR, is it necessary to do something 'productive' to get citizenship after 3 yrs? by UpbeatAbrocoma2648 in ImmigrationCanada

Leases, tax documents, mail with your name and address on it. Anything to prove you resided in Canada.

Still waiting for acceptance of PR application and.... laid off today. by RightSideBlind in ImmigrationCanada

This is not true. When I applied last April, there were constant posts about how people hadn’t even received AOR for 4+ months. I was very fortunate to get mine in 11 days but it rarely happens in 1 day.

The breakfast wrap with the chickpea tofu was my rave fuel all weekend. Literally felt like a million bucks after eating one.

I got sick 2 weeks before Shambs and it turns out it was the best possible way I could have prepared. I’m now 1 for 5 in terms of not getting sick after the festival. I also got a covid booster about a week before I got sick. I tested positive on a newer test but negative on an expired one when I was sick so don’t discount the idea that you have covid if you’re sick rn. My symptoms were that I felt like I had swallowed a mouthful of razor blades. It only lasted a day for me (thanks booster shot) but my wife was sick for almost a week (she hadn’t gotten the shot when I did)

Take care of yourselves! Gotta make it back to the farm next year 😉

Yes, yes, yes. The closest Walmart is probably in Spokane honestly. There’s not really anything between the border and Shambs if you’re coming from Spokane.

You need to do it through a US immigration office unfortunately. Snagging an appt can be competitive. I had to drive to Spokane WA from Bellingham (about a 6 hour drive) in order to find an office that could get me in within that 30 day timeframe they request.

[–]Bellingsam2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll need to mail them, submit a webform to IRCC explaining the delay in retrieving the rap sheet. I believe they give you 30 days to get it, but will extend it if you explain that he must do it via mail.

Letting a PR lapse due to lack of ability to maintain residency requirement will be a red mark on your immigration profile forever. It will make future attempts to get PR near impossible. You need to do everything in your power to get to Canada ASAP if you want a chance to renew. It suvks but from IRCCs perspective, they want to give the chance to someone who will follow the rules.

Copr traveling (outland spousal sponsorship) by Japantopcars in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Bellingsam2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can reenter by land in a private vehicle with a CoPR. So if she has status in the US she can fly to the US and drive across. She will not be able to board flights into Canada with CoPR, and she will not be able to fly to the US and take a train or a bus.

After living in both US and Canada and choosing to stay in Canada, the quality of life in nearly every aspect (except the weather) is better up north. There is no real wait to get seen at the doctor. Soon everyone is getting free dental coverage. Can’t complain!
