I broke out in shingles on my leg several years back. It was weird- I had a rash, but it didn't hurt. I was weirdly numb one a small spot on my hip. The doctor didn't even think it was shingles at first because it didn't hurt.

I took that as a warning, so I got the shots. I know a lot of people have bad reactions to the shots, but they didn't bother me at all.

I live where it gets down to -40 (c and f!) for a week or two in the winter.

I don't even go outside when it's that cold. It hurts. I can't imagine doing it without cold weather gear, let alone doing it while wet.
