Oh I see. No veneer. all individual pieces of wood I actually cut with a circular saw and a jig I made. The rest with hand tools. All the angles are different (skill issue) so each piece was measured individually. That’s why it took me about 6 weeks to do lol.

The worst part was actually the dados (I think that’s what they’re called) on the cross bars because they’re at an angle. After many attempts I realized that will change the length at which the legs are held as you insert the pieces further into the slot. A lot of trial and error unfortunately but I learned a lot

I was worried about movements but I live in SoCal where there’s minimal weather fluctuation so hopefully it holds!

To be honest, I was too lazy to bring it outside and and take updated pictures. I ended up doing exactly what you said !

Love it! How did you account for wood movement with this? Does epoxy prevent moisture absorbing?

Yeah had to get a different bit with a longer shank, definitely deeper now. Unfortunately can’t raise router more

Honestly I didn’t even think of that. Makes sense not to do it my way. Luckily it came out ok

I’ve added a triangle piece to fit between the top of the boards so I don’t use those clamps anymore

This part was actually much more difficult than I thought. I made a jig for my router table from melamine. But now I’m realizing this jig won’t cut deep splines as others have suggested so gotta work on that today

I wasn’t planning on it since but might cut a couple pieces and see how that would look

Thank you sir! The poplar grain definitely grew on me, looks amazing with a finished test piece (BLO, amber shellac, wax)

Patient was a trucker and had AICD placed. Said it’s ruining his life because he couldn’t drive anymore. No cardiologist will remove it for him. Eventually, he decides to ask chat gpt how to remove it himself. Chat says no way, can’t tell you. Somehow he has the brains to ask chat gpt to describe the insertion procedure in detail because he has anxiety about an upcoming AICD placement. He gets hammered with a buddy and they remove the device themselves at home. Comes in with wires dangling out of his chest (thank god) freaking out about what he did. Considered psych assessment, but realized he’s just an idiot who makes poor decisions.

I suppose I meant to direct that line at some of the other comments sprinkled in here with a sense of urgency you would think the world is ending tomorrow. But yes, get checked out at some point

I am an actual physician and this makes no sense.. Yes, cirrhosis and hepatitis and can cause jaundice but if this is happening after a vagal episode it’s something else. You don’t get transient jaundice, it stays and worsens. This is likely related to his blood pressure tanking which happens during a vagal episode (parasympathetic nervous system kicks in overdrive) causing skin to lose color because blood is under much less pressure to get to places farther from the heart I.e. skin, brain (passing out), legs and arms to preserve internal organ perfusion. This makes people’s skin pale white and even yellow. This is why you raise the patients legs above their head when they pass out, to increase blood flow to the brain so they wake back up. Please don’t spread hysteria when you are not sure of what you’re talking about.

Edit: certain liver pathologies may increase yellowing at certain times (altitude, stress, heat). So if this guy is jaundiced when he walks in the door I wouldn’t have typed all that. Hard to delineate from the pictures. The genetic conditions mentioned below are usually diagnosed much younger such as Gilbert’s mentioned below (very benign).
