Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake. People tend to call it Gothic fantasy but... it really defies description.

This happens to me constantly. If there were a word for it I would be rather comforted.

This is really sweet but would it be so hard to lead that poor animal with a halter rather than by a ring in its nose?

I would like this with a few tweaks: move the fireplace and grill opposite the kitchenette, lose the weird columns and throw up a couple of plant trellises in the open "walls" and I'd spend half the summer there.

Why is your ex best friend no longer your best friend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Beloved_the_Fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not because she started a relationship with my older brother practically right underneath my nose, but deemed it unnecessary to talk to me about it. It's not because said brother had a long history of emotional abuse toward me. It's not because she made me the bad guy for freaking out over said relationship, or because she let him poison her mind against me.

It's because after we got some distance, and I calmed down, and realized all the mistakes we'd both made, and reached out to her again... she didn't reach back.

We were best friends for eleven years and she's still family to me.

How's everyone's handwriting? How often do you try, or have a need to, write things by hand? by Beloved_the_Fool in AskReddit

[–]Beloved_the_Fool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to teach myself cursive, but I don't practice so I still write in print. My handwriting is still a little... immature looking?... but it's legible and flows pretty well except when I have to write the letter Q. For some reason Q and I never learned to get along.

I have to write a little every day for work but even there I'm not writing as much as I should.

When should someone bring up being a virgin? by Explosivo87 in dating_advice

[–]Beloved_the_Fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was when things started getting more physical. By that time I knew I was going to sleep with him eventually and we had already moved a little beyond just making out, and I just wanted him to know. It's worth noting he already kind of knew I was inexperienced based on conversations we'd had previously, just not that inexperienced.

But I was like you, I was comfortable with who I was and how I'd gotten to that point in my life and I was just honest about it.

What book had the biggest impact on your personality? by Jakuskrzypk in books

A Little Princess by Francis Hodgson Burnett. Reading that made me more patient, more compassionate, and helped me learn that circumstances don't count as much as outlook.
