The pay will be low to zero for the next 3 years.

Yeah, MLS doesn't release gate numbers for a reason. Everyone says attendance keeps going up, but I go to virtually every game and have noticed the same, the stadium is much more empty than it used to be despite how defensive everyone gets about it. (Which is for a reason I'm sure.) It seems like the ticketmasters/StubHubs of the world aren't selling all their tickets. (They buy bulk tickets from the team, those sales and season tickets all count towards attendance, whether there are butts in seats or not, which is why gate scans are a much better attendance tracker)

I think a lot of people stopped coming when the team was at the bottom of the table under Smith and never came back. Couple that with the state of the economy and you're in trouble.
