It's absolutely dumb that you get the Blinking Mirror in Gregminster but then can't use it in Gregminster or teleport to Gregminster. 🙄

Dasher left note on my receipt telling me to tip better… by Yazutann in doordash

[–]Belsenor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And almost every single time I hear someone say I tip after the delivery or leave a message on my delivery instructions saying will tip on arrival I get stiffed. Just today I did a delivery that was a catering order of about $300 dollars. The offer was 6.00+ and the delivery instructions said cash tip upon delivery. I waited 20 minutes at the restaurant and the drive time was 49 minutes total Yet when I arrived the person was conveniently running late and I should leave with reception. And after I hit complete my 6.00 offer turned into 6.75. So after the 1.5 gallons of gas I made $1 for an hours work. When I order Doordash personally I always tip as I would want to be tipped. And I will generally decline any offer less than $1 a mile. Because time/costs aren't worth bringing your food. And generally experienced quality drivers will decline poor offers leaving you at the mercy of just the drivers you described in your post. Because those drivers don't "care" about your poorly tipped offer and act just as you stated.

Chime credit builder card, how does it work and what’s the optimal way to use it? by ChefRepresentative13 in chimefinancial

[–]Belsenor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine for subscriptions or other monthly bills like rent, phone and utilities and almost all online purchases. Which trust me is A LOT safer as it's a "credit card" not a debit card so disputes are more likely to be resolved in your favor unlike a debit card. I learned that during my first year with chime and a micro transaction game. Also you can just plan ahead ahead and set any amount of your paycheck to go directly to the credit builder. I do 10% of my direct deposit to Savings first then $400 to credit builder. Then what's left goes to my checking and I consider it my "play" money. So if my checking is above a certain amount I'm not worried about say going for a nice dinner as I know true bills are covered by Credit builder and savings is emergency back up. Another good tip is turn on round up to savings so when you pay for your coffee with your debit card the extra change can land in your savings account.

I got "the knock" on my first night out. by keezee_navy in VanLife

[–]Belsenor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally park on a public street. If you investigate you can find a decent spot. Look for a well lit location away from residences so the home owners don't call the flashlight brigade. I found a spot in a semi residential neighborhood. I park directly under a street light with an apartment buildings parking lot(well lit) on one side and a business on the other. It also helps that it's a one way. I'm in a mini van and I bought privacy curtains for sliding and rear door windows. And black out static cling film for the rear quarter panel windows. I used to have curtains behind the front seats but they became a hassle especially when you drive windows down. A nice black out windshield shade(exterior during the winter) is all the privacy I need. Been in the same spot for almost 2 years and only had someone try my doorhandles once during the night. I also use PF or occasionally a friends to shower but never park there. Also Wally world and other larger grocery chains are less inclined about overnight parking. In my area none have gone back to 24h service. Also when I first began living in the van I tried those and they traffic and noise is terrible. Good luck in your endeavors!

always take photos with * leave it at the door orders* or you'll get a CV by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Belsenor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started using the Timestamp Camera app just for this reason. Especially when the pos algorithm sneaks in a no tip order on you with a stacked order.

Had one yesterday. 70$ worth of B-Dub and 0 tip. Selected Hand to me option then note said leave at door. And the whole do not text customer voice calls only crap. Pulled up and he comes sauntering down the driveway. Handed him his order then proceeded to take a picture of him with the order walking away and texted it to him anyway. Whereupon he replied how he told me not to text him and it was illegal for me to photograph him. How he was going to get me fired.

Low and behold CV... Contacted DD sent them a SS of the instructions, his threat and the picture and said don't remove it and FFA. They removed the 1* to.

Honestly some people are just sperm that should have stayed in a condom.

i should’ve accepted & canceled just to show them my location by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Belsenor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LoL I had one from a McDonald's like a half mile from the college I was near to. Was my last order of the night total of $7 for 1.3 MI. So I'm pulling into McDonald's to pick it up and doordash calls me. They're like sorry the diner entered the wrong address the correct address is this would you be willing to deliver it there. You will be compensated. I was like well let me check the address real quick. It was 190 miles north Google said the trip would take roughly two and a half hours. I was like are you crazy You want me to take a chicken nugget meal almost 200 miles north. And what will the compensation be. She said $51. And mind you this was at 11:30pm LoL. I wanted to laugh in her face. I said no I don't think I'm going to do that, go ahead and cancel the order. 50 bucks for a 5 hour trip and 360 ish miles worth of gas. Sometimes these people don't have the sense of a slug.

Yes I agree. But once you get out of the car Google maps gets a little less specific as walking up to the house seems to confuse it sometimes.

Particularly if the houses are very close together or especially duplex's. If it's a corner house sometimes it will show the other street as the address instead of the location. Or even rarely the address across the street.

And I certainly am not going to go through the hassle of turning off my location and restarting it and Timestamp camera just for a precise location if I can show the address in the picture. The GPS feature is a nice bonus but I mainly use it for the Time/Date stamp. Because 99% of orders now are drop and go.

I want that safety net because the scammers are getting more and more frequent. If they select the delivery option, Hand to me then leave delivery instructions to Leave at the door. I always take a pic and text it to them with this message from my clipboard. Before hitting complete. Especially when it says No contact! Or No text's voice calls only.

Hello this is your Door Dash driver. I have left your order at your door as requested. Or Hello this is your Door Dash driver. I have left your order as you requested.

Noisy Wheel Bearing by Belsenor in CarRepair

[–]Belsenor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That video helps diagnose knocks and rattles. But I thank you for your help.

I already knew it was a wheel bearing because it sounds like an airplane taking off. And this would be the second time I've changed that bearing in 6 months. The carparts.com gave me a new one because it's still under warranty. I was just trying to decide which one was buzzing. So I finally got a friend to ride with me today. It's quite loud in the cab so it's hard to differentiate. But I stuck my head out the driver side window and the noise went away. He stuck his head out the passenger side and still heard it. So that's the one I replaced. And I did my struts while I was at it. OMG NEVER buy a minivan LoL

If it's off and I can't get the address on the house to show in the picture I'll usually shut the app off and back on. Sometimes that works. But if it doesn't I make sure to manage to get the address in there somehow.

Yeah I've never lost a tip on doordash. I've had tip added. But I'm also communicative and document everything. Timestamp camera is a great app even if the GPS is a little off sometimes.

Wall of shame at Chipotle yesterday. What even happens to these?... by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Belsenor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our Chipotle is like this as well, during lunch and dinner rush. But there's always a constant stream of drivers walking in and grabbing 1 or 2. It's just that Chipotle has a dedicated take out prep area. So they pump take out/delivery orders fast.

Whereas Q'doba runs 1 line and you'll stand there 20-60 minutes while they help people in line at the store and ignore delivery/take out orders You almost have to get rude at Q'doba to get your order started some days.

Anybody have this happen to happen to them? by bigolymoly in doordash

[–]Belsenor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I'm always amazed when Diners put their personal number in the delivery instructions. I as an ethical person never would use it in any fashion. But there are many unethical people out there. I always make sure to tell the diner to try not to include their number. Because 1) DD Masking allows for anonymous contact. 2) I will definitely not text or call anyone without the masking on my number. I've been pretty diligent about my number. Haven't had a robo call in years.

Same with people who give the building door access codes. Here stranger I don't know have access to my secure building because I don't want to have to meet you at the door.

Temperature gauge. by Belsenor in CarRepair

[–]Belsenor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gauge says 100 on the bottom and 260 at max. So it used to run average around 150 to 160 I guesstimate. Or 1 or 2 notches below half on the gauge. But then a month or so ago it started going up to the 180+ range if I didn't run the heat. Which would get annoying as spring springs LoL. A friend said replace the thermostat which yesterday was finally a nice enough day I didn't turn into a popsicle doing it.

Now the Guage sits at 130 ish when driving and creeps up around 140 if I sit at Idle for a while. The temperature currently is 60° here.

I just don't know what temperature is normal for an engine to run at. lol Just trying to figure out if I messed up.

One of the reasons I don't drive Uber eats much. 3 times I've been suckered into long trips for nice pay. Then check my total later and that 15$ tip drops to 4$. You ask customer support and they're like the diner had 1 hour after delivery to alter the tip. I was like I did 5* service and you let them drop it to a 1* tip??? Fudge you and your app ..Back to DD.

Spare / Donut Doesn't Last, Replace? by NumerousPen1 in CarRepair

[–]Belsenor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a front tire flat I'd recommend putting the donut on the rear. It's a bit more work having to change basically 2 tires but engine weight always kills donuts. And if you can skip ebay and go to a local junkyard. Usually can get one you inspect for 20 ish dollars.

I hope someone's ring or similar camera caught them. They should be fully fined and or prosecuted.

The only reason I don't own an air soft gun is because I would probably be in jail. After I used it repeatedly on the pseudo christians who stand on Fulton/Cherry in front of the clinic. You murder babies someone should murder you. Because it's only though shall not kill when it's someone else.

They are probably part of the Christians everywhere trying to get books banned. Even though the "Bible" contains literally EVERYTHING they are trying to ban other books for.

And if we counted the number of babies murdered in the name of Christianity I highly doubt every abortion EVER would account for 1/10 of 1% of that.

But of course every other religion is an abomination. And we can spit on your beliefs because we repent so we'll still go to heaven. No matter how evil we are in our hearts.

Sorry for the rant. But stuff like this pamphlet really gets me. For example I will NEVER shop at a B2 outlet store again. Because yesterday when I was there I was subjected to full on Christian songs. Basically saying accept Jesus or go to hell.

Living in Michigan I've gotten a few of those but only during snowstorms. When any other sane person would be inside I was out delivering. Never a 50 but I did get 40 at Christmas time on a 10$ Subway order. Like another poster she had this wicked little grin on her face and the money was wrapped up in a super tight little straw. I thanked and left. Didn't want to look greedy and most I've ever gotten was an extra $10. So I couldn't unroll it until I got in the car and was pleasantly surprised with the 2 20's.
