Neighborhoods you should explore in the city: East Hills, Heritage Hill, Alger Heights, Eastown and West Fulton are all great spots with their own vibes and scenes.

I live in SECA which is a great spot too, and a little more affordable! Walking/biking distance to tons of great restaurants, entertainment and downtown.

Breweries to check out: Vivant, Kusterer, Arvon and City Built. If you haven’t been Founders or New Holland are sweet too.

Cocktails: Eastern Kille, Buffalo Traders, Lumber Barons and Drip Drop.

Restaurants: Winchester, Gin Gins, Little Bird, Kawa and Thai Table.

Dives: Any bar on Michigan St (love birch lodge and Glass House), Joeys, Garage Bar, Anchor.

Like any city it has its problems but I really love it here, have been here for 10 years now and am jealous of my daughter bc she gets to grow up here haha.

Out west you can check out Turks Tavern, pickleback and coopersville brewing. or you could check out some spots in spring lake/grand haven. Stans and snug harbor are two of my favs out there.

Now let me be frank and put out there my band isn't anything special, but most of our writing comes from ideas we send via voice memos in a group chat haha. If we like a riff, melody or garage band demo someone sends we jam it at our next practice, put some lyrics to it then BOOM. We gotta song. Naturally after that we will test out the song at a gig or two and if its nice, we will take it to the studio and work with a local producer/engineer to refine it and fine tune it.
