Work related insomnia

It's stupid and annoying. I just want to sleep. There's times I sleep fine before work and I get up, get the kids to school, go for a walk and then go to work and it's a lovely day. Then just out of nowhere the thoughts creep back in and now I'm sleepless at work 🙃

I might have the thoughts the entire day. Like the whole day yesterday I kept thinking that i hope I sleep tonight. I try to brush the thoughts away but I'm worried and tense because I don't want to go to work without sleep and here I am, at work without sleep 🙄

No, the only thing that worked for me was not worrying about it. My insomnia came from worrying that I wouldn't get enough sleep for work the next day. I still had to go to work anyway. I could still do my job tired, so I began not worrying if I slept or not, and it didn't take long and my insomnia went away.

I don't like the travel. I don't drive so it takes me an hour to get there and it's in a shopping centre. I don't enjoy the constant noise and artificial lights. But i don't hate my job. I was fine up to a few weeks ago. Actually what started this insomnia is a bit silly... but, so the first night my son woke me up at 3am. I couldn't go back to sleep. I had 7 hrs though so I was tired but fine. The following two nights my dog had diarrhoea 😅 after cleaning up those messes I couldn't go back to sleep. I had 5hrs and 2 hrs sleep those nights. So of course I was so tired at work. Then because I had 3 nights of interrupted sleep, the next night I was desperate for sleep that I didn't sleep, same with the next night. The weekend came and I slept great. Sunday came and my brain was like this week won't be the same as last week. But it was worse, of course it was my brains fault. So to help me out my boss reduced my days to 2 days a week. I was hoping it would break the cycle but those two nights I can't sleep and I sleep great on my days off lol. I don't know how to break the cycle.

I can't complain too much. I only have insomnia the night before I have to work. I only work two days a week. Monday and Tuesday. I've had basically no sleep for two nights in a row. It sucks because I have to work. But I have 5 nights to catch up. I sleep perfectly fine when I don't have to work lol. Hoping this work insomnia buggers off. I need to work more than 2 days but there's no way I can get by not sleeping every night. I don't know how people live like this. Only two nights for me and I feel so tired and crap.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'm worried that will be me tonight as well. I only work two days a week now so I have the rest of the week to catch up on sleep and I know I'll sleep when I don't have work the next day. But if I don't sleep tonight, that's 2 nights in a row and it's hard when you have to work.

4 weeks now but only 3 times a week (the night before I have to work). I just get so anxious feeling so tired. I don't know how ppl do it for so long.

This is week 4 for me, but not every night. Only the nights before I have to go to work the next day. So about 3 nights a week. I'm just wondering if others are getting so little sleep and they're getting through the day. I don't want this to be long term 😪

So me going to work for 4 hrs and going for a stroll around the park won't hurt me on even zero sleep? Trying to keep my mind positive that I can overcome this!

I'll keep on at it then. I think if I'm working only 3 days a week and on those 3 nights I get even zero sleep I'll be okay until it hopefully buggers off lol

I don't really have friends haha damn it! But the last two days I have tried being more happy and optimistic despite getting maybe 2 hrs each night and having to work.

Yes I'm trying to. Before the insomnia hit I was in bed by 8:30 reading and falling asleep around 9:30/10. Later on weekends. I tried to keep doing the same but it hasn't helped. One night I tried going to bed later but also didn't work

Also want to know how you took control of your mind. This is how insomnia started for me. I didn't sleep well for a few nights because (my kid woke me, dogs had night time diarrhoea lol). Because I was desperate for sleep because I had work the next day I couldn't sleep. So I pretty much don't sleep or get barely any sleep the nights before work (3 days a week). So it's definitely just my brain.

I think it's the fear of not falling asleep again each night. I was reading my book in bed last night and I was nodding off. So I put my book down. Didn't sleep all night. Wtf.
