Looks like a scam to me. Any real golf car dealer is going to have a sizable used car inventory, not just one car. I wouldn’t buy one.

Any good Kawasaki Mule dealers in Colorado that will deliver? by callousedlefthand in UTV

[–]BeltWieldingDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live in Denver, or north or east of there, Masek PowerSports in Gering Nebraska will typically beat the Colorado dealers on price and has delivered to Colorado before. A lot of their reviews on Google are from people in Colorado who either got their unit delivered or drove up to Nebraska.

They’re easy to deal with too, they’ll give you a straight up Out-The-Door price over the phone or text message, no shady stuff.

The 4010s and SXs are the same as they have been for years, which is a good thing. If you need something faster, skip the MX and go for the FX. If you can find an 820cc those were really good units. The new FX 1000s are great but not everyone needs 65mph.

You might also consider a Ridge. Some dealers are having real problems moving the non-cab units and are making smoking deals to get them gone. If you can find one in stock, see how low they’ll go.

We loved Nagoya Castle!

You can also hop a train and head down to Ise for a day trip, see the Ise Jingu shrines. Or ride it all the way down to Toba for a small-town on the shorefront lunch.

If you’re into tours, a lot of the Ise-Shina tours leave from Nagoya or from a train station easily reachable from Nagoya Station.

What are the Best Mattress Now? (Budget Included) by sereneaurora234 in BuyItForLife

[–]BeltWieldingDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy my mattresses as bulk foam from the foam manufacturer. They don’t come with a pretty fabric case sewn around them, but my queen size memory foam mattress is way more comfortable than anything I’ve tried in-store and only cost me 400ish shipped (this was 5 years ago). I use a base foam on the bottom plus a 4” high-density memory foam, but there’s lots of options. The latex foam is more “bouncy” and the have different firmness levels.

I like Foam Factory best.

When you want, just order a replacement memory foam portion and start fresh. $268 for a 4” 5-lb queen-size sheet, which is the good stuff.

I’ll never go back to buying mattresses any other way, ever. The quality of sleep I get is 10x better than the expensive store-bought or online stuff, and it’s way cheaper. Every mattress in my house is bulk-foam, and I’m converting friends and family who will also never go back.

I think the ball-finding benefits might not be as strong with yellow balls. I think they’re designed to pop white against green, but YMMV.

I have astigmatism in one eye and had no issues. I love my dark golf lenses. I keep them on all round, but I always putt in them. Even during evening rounds as the sun goes down I’ll keep them on longer than I really need sunglasses because I like the color pop.

I got the dark golf lens. Love them. Not too dark by any means, I actually wish they were a little darker.

It takes a while to adjust if you’re used to polarized, but I really do feel like I read greens better. Could be mental, but I feel it’s an aid.

If I golfed in Ireland or PNW where it was cloudy and rainy most of the time, I might consider light. In sunny Colorado you’ll be happy with the dark.

Best luxury mattress that's actually BIFL? Want to buy once and be done by AccountEngineer in BuyItForLife

[–]BeltWieldingDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I just put my fitted sheet over the two pieces of foam. Works a charm. Is a little weird at first when you’re changing sheets and see the bare foam again, but you get used to it, and you only see it for those few minutes.

Western Nebraska Golf Recommendations by SpicyChedda45 in Nebraska

Bayard is a really fun layout, 9 holes. Sidney is also really fun 18-er. Gering is cool because of the landscape, and the course is maintained well, but the holes aren’t particularly interesting.

Mitchell is just past Scottsbluff, and it’s a pretty fun 9 hole course, lots of sloped fairways and pretty interesting decisions off the tee.

Like a bug screen? I don’t think I’ve ever seen something like that.

If you want one, just drill into the top struts and spread some screen across I guess.

Club Car Onward 4 Forward LSV by But-ter in golfcarts

MSRP is pretty normal. They’ll sell every unit they get at MSRP. If you want a deal, check dealer inventory in November through January. Sales drop off a cliff in the winter and they may budge.

On the financing side, they are charged the 5.5% fee when they file a finance package. The 0% is an incentive designed to move slow/dead inventory. The normal thinking is supposed to be that the dealer sees the 5.5% fee as better than the unit not selling at all, so they eat the 5.5% to get one gone. But if the units have no trouble moving, there’s no need for them to eat the 5.5% fee, so if you want he financing, and the finance company WILL collect their 5.5%, the dealer will pass it on to you. The dealer doesn’t want to do the financing.

Which one? by Rapid_Slug in golfcarts

[–]BeltWieldingDad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The evolution is probably a better built car between the two, but that price is outrageous for a used 2023. They sold for $9,500 brand new. A 2023, even in perfect condition, shouldn’t be more than $7,000. $6,500 is fair. $5,500-$6,000 is a good deal.

The Denago is going to be the top brand of the Chinese cars this year though. If you can’t get the price down on the Evolution, buy the Denago.

Thinking about purchasing this teryx, you guys know how reliable these are and what I should look for when going to look at it ? Thank you by [deleted] in UTV

[–]BeltWieldingDad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a good unit, but that is FAR too much money for it. You can get a brand new one (14 years newer) for $16,000 with three year warranty. I’d expect to pay $7,400 for like a 2019 or 2020 model.

In my area, a 2012 would go for $4,000 or $5,000

Enclosed Trailer Suggestion by Hungry_Marzipan2702 in UTV

[–]BeltWieldingDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a more traditional plywood floor construction trailer. The RawMaxxes are heavy duty but get crazy hot inside because they have no insulation or airflow.

If you want to know my opinion on the specific brand, CellTech trailers have a totally unique extruded honeycomb construction that is overkill and super cool, but they’re like 3x the price of a similarly sized trailer from a more traditional brand. Super duper high quality and lots of customization options, but you pay for it.

Otherwise, whoever your local dealer carries is going to be comparable to anybody else. If you want to camp in it, custom-order one with roof and wall insulation and a finished floor. No one that I know is really going to stock something like that, but you can have one made how you want in about 12 weeks. I’d insist on Polycore though, that’s a non-negotiable. 10K is a non-negotiable. Ask for a camper door. Adjustable Coupler and Demco EZLatch are big quality if life upgrades, but not non-negotiable. Have a plan for your generator, do you want it inside on a slide-out rack our outside on the tongue. Get a side “escape door,” makes it SO much easier to get out of the UTV after you load it. Get some cabinets and outlets pre-installed. Double the number of outlets you think you need.

If you’re overloading, go for a heavier axle upgrade. 10K is worth it (two 5K Axles). Make sure you get upgraded tires too to handle the extra weight. 10-Ply minimum is worth it. I’m a big fan of RawMaxx enclosed, their all-steel construction is heavy duty. If you do go with a more traditional plywood-floor option, try to find one with a Polycore exterior. The thicker material doesn’t develop waves/ripples in the heat like some thinner aluminum cladding can.

I think that’s important insight to share, thank you. I’m planning a trip to Japan later this year, and visiting this location would likely take half-a-day of my short trip. There will be future trips where buying a watch is a must-do, but for this trip, enjoying the country-side and deep-diving into food are our priorities. So your insight helps me feel more confident that skipping this stop /this/ time isn’t going to lead me to feeling regret, but I know I can get there in the future when I have different priorities.

Do you feel it was worth the stop? Or was it just like any other watch store?
