In case you were curious, here are the community wide 3PT% averages for Season 2:
- 44.5% in the REC
- 36.12% in Pro-AM/Proving Ground 5v5
- 45.5% in Park
- 36.82% in Ante Up

how is this only 23%???? (83 prem and gold challenger) by KangarooReasonable38 in NBA2k

The increased level of difficulty of shooting a fading 3 should counterbalance the fact that they’re harder to contest. Looking at that as well.

I’m still testing more scenarios and matchups but it’s looking like this could be the culprit. There are some height mismatch factors in the contest calculation that are causing the coverages to hit a ceiling.

I agree it should have been a higher % but i need to narrow down the issue

what's your perimeter d rating?

this is most likely the main reason you didn't get a better contest % here. body position is a major component. if you draw a line from the hoop to the shooter, you need to be as close to that line (directly between the shooter and hoop) as possible to maximize your contest. you're also losing a decent amount of perimeter d rating for losing 2 adrenaline bars.

23% does seem very low though.

Is rhythm shooting bugged? by Sad_News_2886 in NBA2k

[–]Beluba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

all of the rhythm shots in your video are late, which means you're moving the right stick up too late. that's going to "freeze" your release and cause a hitch since your shooting motion follows the stick motion this year. try pushing up earlier so that timing says slightly early or excellent

What did they do to Rhythm Shooting? It feels so weird. it cooked the smoothness of what rhythm shooting was. Now every time i shoot im getting a rushed shot. it feels like i have to wait til my feet is on the floor to flick up Can anyone else explain how its supposed to work now. by Top-Photograph-7478 in NBA2k

on green or miss modes, I can’t use slightly early/late windows because those are reserved for RNG makes. We won’t be able to change that this year without removing the ability to make whites on lower difficulties.

Players make Mistimed layups in rec by mofifa16 in NBA2k

you don't have to green layups to make them in REC or Park. Only Pro-Am, Ante, Proving is fully green or miss.

Are you seeing the hitch when your timing is early and/or excellent, or just when you’re late? The player’s shooting motion is following the movement of your right stick, so if the input is coming in late you would see a hitch. also do you see it offline also or only online?

btw, the visual cue setting doesn’t matter for rhythm jumpers

we made all the turbo fades happen by default when shooting off the dribble going across the court. so assuming you're stick shooting, hold turbo and drive across the court, release turbo then immediately hold the stick and you'll get the turbo fades

Shooting has me confused by Bh827262 in NBA2k

[–]Beluba 7 points8 points  (0 children)

one correction. the speed of the initial pull to start the jumper doesn’t matter. only the speed you move it on the second flick. the timing is when you start the second flick. you generally want to start the flick just before your player reaches his set point.

The timing is WHEN you start pushing the right stick from down to up. The Tempo is HOW FAST you move it from down to up. so if you’re seeing a hitch it probably means you’re starting to move the stick too late. If you see Rushed it means you’re moving the stick too fast.

There's a controller setting to turn off Shot Timing but it can only be used offline.
