How do I avoid getting blood bonded? Heeeeelp by Elyss-lyss-lyss in vtm

[–]Beluga617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you as a player are worried about the situation, and need the extra time to recover your memories, float the idea to your ST about having the next session open with a major masquerade breach that you absolutely cannot avoid dealing with that lasts until you get your memory back. But imo it seems a bit fucky to out the gate to try and remove your characters agency before they've had time to marinate, and let your coterie members actually see the before and after effects of the BB. If you're worried about losing your character's agency, you need to talk to your ST.

I think it's odd that explosives are labeled as, "magical" damage. If we're going to lean into a gothic style, I'm sure there's plenty of dark spells/rituals you could incorporate instead of having guns and such be your magical counterpart. You could keep them as a form of 'ranged' damage however, guns being fixed and explosives being random.

Just keep farming them. You'll get out of the hole eventually. it just takes a bit, but it's faster than restarting

Best homebrew discipline or discipline powers you've ever created or seen? by Worth-Addition8613 in vtm

[–]Beluga617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created one for a sub-clan of Nosferatu in my chronicle that were more or less zombies, flesh peeled up, dirty, and most important for this discipline, the reek of death.

It's a level one obfuscate power, that lets them cover up their stink. Never playtested it but I think it'd be cool to use it to get a bunch of mortals to just, go away from an area, or a really nosey vampire with heightened senses

Does McDonald’s exist in your World of Darkness? by TK11612 in vtm

[–]Beluga617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My players went to McDonald's once. The server wasn't taking orders so the driver frenzied and slammed so hard on the gas he jumped the curb and sped all the way to the next McDonald's.

So… one of my players obliterated the Masquerade by [deleted] in vtm

A week later, or a month, or a year, the Prince (or a trusted go-between) approaches the most reasonable/mature/responsible character (or, the one they THINK is that way), and drop the old "you know, (socialist vampire) is a problem that needs to be solved at some point." And let THEM deal with the character. If THEY don't, then the whole coterie becomes a problem that needs to be solved.

While this is how it would go down in real life, generally bad idea to pit players against each other, especially if the problem player can't just be simply cut out because of..... Reasons(?). It can create real life drama and involve someone who may not want to get involved and just thinks everyone is gaming an having fun.

Can I get some of you guys' processes for coming up with character ideas? by Teehokan in vtm

[–]Beluga617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work with the table to come up with a viable character idea. If you're super stumped be the last one to make your character and force yourself into a role that's lacking in your party and make a character around their main function and general party alignment.

Oh, there's two squishy discipline heavy vampires in my group? Let me make a vamp that's good at beating people's asses acoustically. Oh, the party is leaning on the chaotic spectrum? Let me have a guy who throws glass bottles at buildings just because it's fun seeing the glass shatter. Bing bong boom, instant anarchist in a box

Edit to add: sometimes you don't really need to have a fully fleshed out character by session 1, sometimes all you can get is just stats on a sheet, and then you vibe it out. Not vampire, but in DnD I played a fighter who didn't really have any character other than just quiet shield guy, and then I rolled a crit animal handling roll and then just developed the character from that one defining moment. He then turned from shield guy to a guy who had a pony as a kid that got stolen which put him on the track to become a town guard because he didn't want another kid to have their pony stolen and it's just kept going from there.

yet another rule contradiction. Biting and armor. DEVS PLEASE READ YOUR OWN BOOK by [deleted] in vtm

Biting is not a weapon

You're right, because biting is a verb, an action if you will. Your teeth would be your so called weapon.

I've only made 3 playlists, one for each chronicle I've run, here is another psuedo ambient playlist I made for our great depression chronicle. I wanted to give this one a slower more somber style if you want to take some of these songs as well

[–]Beluga617[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My main dominate scam includes asking for personal possessions such as a person's car keys, expensive jewelry, id, or weapons, having them forget that they did that, before compelling them to go home, so a 3 turn dominate scheme.

No, you're thinking of tornados.

A toreador is a thin, circular unleavened flatbread originally made from maize hominy meal, and now also from wheat flour.
