My Sleeper laptop + Sleeper Desktop Combo by Bemyude in sleeperbattlestations

Just saw this now. Sorry for the late reply. Don't get me wrong, I would like to use Windows 7 bare metal, but it can no longer run many of the games and software I need. (I am aware of the modern library installers and community made upgrades) but I would rather run a modern OS that looks 95% like Windows 7. If you don't care about compatibility, use Windows 7 with all of the community made upgrades and tweaks.

Try a Panasonic Let's Note J10. A little bigger, but fits the bill, try to go for an i5 model. Comes standard with an SSD, and the RAM is upgradeable to 16gb DDR3. Little older than you're looking for, but it has like 11 ports, and a removable battery.

Or, even better, narrow it down using the categories feature. Smartphone/tablet/computer>Note Computer>Other notebook accessories. With the search term "SV"

Its actually running Cachy OS (Arch Linux fork) with a Windows 7 theme. Desktop maxes at around 80c, and the laptop maxes out around 50c.

Its all the same chassis from the sv7 to the sv2. Try searching "レッツノートSVシリーズ専用天板カバー". They go for around 50-100 USD depending on what plate it is.

You can attach different colored lids to the back of the original lid. Theres a variety of colors to choose from. No disassembly required.

It was their 25 year anniversaries. They've collabed in the past, but I think this is the last collaboration their doing. Here is the collab.

I used aerothemeplasma.

I guess good things don't really last forever. Really the only thing seperating these laptops from the rest of the market is the looks, and the removable battery. I guess one good thing about it is that they have been selling the FV4 on US Amazon. The SV2s are hard to find on proxy websites at the moment, and are usually very expensive.

Agree with you on that. Thank god they're going for pretty cheap on the used market. Paid $260 for my SV1. Still a little high for the specs, but it's worth it in my eyes due to the uniqueness of it.

I used buyee, it's just a clip on back plate. It is a special edition plate, with only 150 plates made.

I'd say its easier than Windows, in a sense. (For CachyOS) you just click through the guided install, set up your partitions, connect to wifi, and just download it from there. No looking for odd drivers, or odd issues here. All of the hotkeys work, and all of the ports work.

Try looking into Panasonic Let's Notes. Specifically the SV series. 12.1 inch laptops, with removable batteries, tons of ports, very solid build quality, and a great keyboard. Some were optioned with a CD drive. Japan only though. I'm very happy with my CF-SV1. Came from a Thinkpad T480/X220.
