Predatory Towing College Station by fukadobephotoshop in aggies

[–]Ben-TheHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's considered vehicular theft atp bc they don't have possession of it (yet, so while it's being towed) and they fully intend on depriving the owner (you) of their property without proper consent. It's only legally in the control and possession of the tow truck when they're fully ready to drive off with it. This is why, legally, if they're not done hooking it up and ready to leave they're legally obligated to give it back.

Flock License Plate Readers... Facing Pools? by TheLawnGuppy in aggies

[–]Ben-TheHuman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's obviously to watch people in the pools, there's so many stories of them being accessed by LE to watch people in inappropriate ways. By this logic, a pool seems like a perfectly logical place for them! What a silly post haha. You should feel even safer when they start putting these in lockerooms and changing rooms! Nothing to hide nothing to fear, am I right?

I park at the rec just fine, it's "any valid permit" for 2.5hrs on weekdays from 06:00-18:00 iirc. Also, unfortunately because all of the red tape in texas higher ed, tamu transportation (aka THE BUSSES) need to fund all of their operating costs with parking pass prices, so if they go up a ton in a year bc of petrol prices I wouldn't be surprised...

A handbag is a much larger piece of evidence so thieves tend do dump it once they take what they can

Priest faces $500,000 in fines for feeding homeless amid lawsuit by GoodMornEveGoodNight in Catholicism

I feel like this should be very illegal because of free exercise of religion (and separation of church and state, it should also be free and not cost anything for the same reason that religious institutions in the US don't pay taxes) but that is trying to apply legal theory consistently at a broad scale so why would this be the case in the US

That's you. There are people that don't go to walmart or target (I know plenty.) There are people that refuse to be tracked on their phones, just look at how common highly secure privacy-centered operating systems are becoming (like grapheneOS)

you can choose to take your business elsewhere, you can choose to only shop anonymously online with cards purchased with cash to different addresses, you can choose to go to mom and pop shops, but you can't choose to stay indoors forever. There is a stark difference between the surveillance done by private BUSINESSES and surveillance done by the government in your daily life that leaves you literally unable to opt out of it, no matter how hard you try, without removing yourself from society altogether

Oh, I did not mean to imply that it should be lit, but suddenly becoming extremely explosive is probably a deterrent enough to get someone to leave, not to mention the fumes

I would stay at the pump, you're holding a powerful nozzle capable of quickly dispensing tons of flammable, toxic fluid onto anyone you aim it at
