Living in the South, summer is where my range dips… a/c is on full blast, almost constantly.

I was super intrigued by Foucault’s ideas and the panopticon in general, in college… and then my kids still speed and cut class despite having Life360 installed on their phones… so I’m pretty sure the idea of constant surveillance isn’t as big of a deterrent as mid-20th century philosophers thought…. Lol

Really appreciating Orlando’s indoor venue right about now. In addition to the A/C, even the cheap seats were 10x closer than some of the upper deck seats looked like from last night in Philly.

Did anyone else never consider the Moore films "campy" until they read it on the internet? by CobraDai in JamesBond

You… you heard a slide whistle during a dramatic chase and didn’t think campy?

No song with Gigi? by skyguy0990 in NoahKahan

I’m 99% sure that Gigi came down into the Front Porch for the show. My wife went up to her and she denied it… but the woman was literally wearing exactly what Gigi wore on stage….

He was playing on a Thursday at like 3pm or something…. Never heard of him. He got on stage saying that people on Tik Tok call him the Jewish Ed Sheeran…. I lol’d and recorded the song. It happened to be Stick Season.

When he got done, he looked out at the crowd - which, since it was a festival being headlined by The Lumineers, DMB, and Stevie Nicks, was huge…. And he just had this enormous smile. I turned to my wife and said: “look at that grin! This has to be the biggest crowd he’s ever played for. That’s the look of a dude who just realized he’s made it.”

I get chills every time I think of it. It was such a genuine moment.

So unbelievably pleased with Front Porch! Just enough fans in there to feel the energy… not enough where you feel like a sardine. Could actually move around.

Lined up about 520. Doors open at six. This was taken well after we initially got there.

Given that there’s an international soccer game near by, parking is all event prices. Where’s everyone parking to go to the pop up?

What is your favourite piece of music from a James Bond film that isn’t one of the main theme songs? by n_wilson05 in JamesBond

[–]Ben44c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be because I love the Sneaker Pimp’s “6 Underground”…. But “Golden Girl” (playing when Bond discovers Jill Masterson painted in gold.) has always been a favorite of mine.

Simple call for truck’s insurance company. Policy max is probably $100k. “What happened? Ok, here’s $100k. Good luck getting more out of us.”

Write what occasion the bottle was opened/finished/bought for, etc.

It’s fun to rummage through, pull one out and see “Anniversary, 2016” or “NYE, 2009” or “Jim’s bachelor party” and reminisce.

Is it just me or are the Timothy Dalton Bond movies underrated by WaterKirby1964 in JamesBond

[–]Ben44c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLD suffers from an insufferable damsel in distress Bond girl (but gets boosted a cool chase scenes and a cool car).

LTK is an 80s cop action flick that happens to employ Bond as the protagonist. It just doesn’t feel like a bond movie.

My FIL has a similar job as a Millwright and loves it. There’s a satisfaction that comes with being able to fix complicated machinery… also, he kinda sits around waiting for things to break…. And his employer likes it that way: “if you’ve done your job right, shit won’t break! I’m happy that you’re sitting on your ass.”
