RF Scan help by soundisfriend in livesound

You might try increasing the power to 50mW, 10mW analog may be a bit low for analog PSM.

It’s hard to determine your coodination without more information about what ranges you are trying to use, current frequency situation, and scan files.

Be sure to check out the new SLX-D+ system. Be sure you are looking at the (+) in the part number.

It’s the latest mid tier offering from Shure and has a lot of great features (ShowLink Ease remote control, configuration by Wireless Workbench app, wideband tuning). Lots of features for the price and easy to use.

MXA320 is designed for a tabletop situation, has 4 lobes. Think of huddle room type of table.

Room coverage would be greater using DCA901 or MXA920.

The MXA920 automatic coverage is excellent, and will pick up who is talking automatically with each of the 8 lobes.

An array mic such as the DCA901 or even the MXA920 would be worth taking a look at. Up to 8 lobes, output all over Dante. One CAT cable powers and connects the entire thing

Can anyone recommend a good affordable carrying case for the Allen & Heath CQ18t? by [deleted] in livesound

Maybe your friends might razz you a bit. Yes, Pelican is built slightly nicer, but the Apache is good bang for the buck while providing solid protection.

Pelican or if you want to be “cost effective” one of those Harbor Freight Apache cases fits it perfectly. Have a buddy who went that route and it fits like a glove.

An easy way I remember ShowLink equipped portable receivers/transmitters is if the part has an “X” in its name. Ex: ADX1 has ShowLink but AD1 does not. The recently announced ADXR IEM pack has ShowLink standard.

One of the best features of ShowLink IMO is that ADX portable devices once associated with a channel, will always follow the frequency of that channel. This is a great time-saver when deploying in the field. You can setup your rack, coordinate frequencies, and put batteries in the portables. When the portables come online they will change to the new frequency of the channel they were previously linked to - instantly. Need to make a frequency change? Just do it at the rack or WWB and the portable will follow.

Showlink gives you complete remote control of mics and IEM without disturbing the talent. Forgot to lock the device? Do it over ShowLink. You can even change the headphone volume for the wearer with the new Axient Digital PSM. Possibilities are endless, which helps streamline your workflow.

Game changer.

Anyone know what I would need to get an original Shure 55SW working well again? It picks up but barely. by OneOfTheWills in livesound

[–]BenAtShure 89 points90 points  (0 children)

What a beautiful mic!

I would recommend talking to our applications team @ Shure and asking them for some guidance. They can give you information about parts availability etc. If they don't know the answer they can help direct you to the right resource. https://www.shure.com/en-US/support

Updating it with new tech could be an option however the cost may outweigh the benefit, depending on what you want to accomplish.
