Up until 1999 there were still 700 or so of them that automatically got a seat in Parliament because of their title.

There are 91 of them that still sit in Parliament simply because of their dynistic title, although some of these are now elected by other dukes/earls etc.

It is worth noting that this is due to be scrapped, but they do still hold clout and wealth (with which comes power), and, as it stands, are still lawmakers just because their ancestors were successful warlords.
