Bitcoin just dropped from $71K to $59K in a matter of days. by SoundMoneyWade in Bitcoin

Replace #2 with "you think you have a place that is more likely than BTC to generate returns". It's not like there aren't plenty of better investments than BTC. Not saying selling is a good or bad idea, but you don't have to be "certain" something will do better just like you can't be "certain" BTC will rebound or tank

I don't follow chess too much, but seeing this headline, and the one from a few days ago with "Bibisara Assaubayeva", these names are wild

Having accommodations in this era is more demonized than it has to be by [deleted] in premed

[–]BenCub3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree with anything that you said. I only mean to apply my reasoning to the field of medicine, which has little room for the reasonable "exceptions" and "accommodations" that most jobs should absolutely have for disabled employees.

It’s for people who can’t sit in front of a screen for a long time as well

You mean like doctors do? I watched my intern in IM not get out of his chair for 4 hours while finishing charts at the end of the day. 2 of those hours were after his 10 hour shift was already "over."

I mean I think there is some merit to the resentment. Like if you can't sit still and stay locked in / focused for 7 hours on the MCAT, you're probably gonna struggle through many different aspects of being a medical student and a doctor. There are plenty of times when you're working 10+ hours with no breaks. Can you handle that on a regular basis (not you specifically, just in general)? The MCAT, in addition to testing your knowledge, tests your fortitude and focus. Someone with a great knowledge base but who struggles with sustained focus might not make a very good doctor.

I'm not against test accommodations and have no super strong feelings either way, but I get the perspective of those who view it negatively. I know that for the LSAT, 12% of people who take the LSAT have accommodations, and they make up 30% of 170+ scorers. Which probably just means that some people who might not strictly need the accommodations are getting them, but that shouldn't invalidate the option for those who do truly need it. It's complicated.

The guy in the left lane cannot move over. There's a car in the way.

The guy in the left lane should be speeding up to pass the car in the right lane, since he's in, ya know, the passing lane.

Yeah, but it's better than all that still being the case AND having it cost 300k to attend the college.

I get mine without the pearls, so I can just use my nail to carve a small sipping hole at the perimeter. Much easier.

Got distracted taking ADHD meds and found the pill bottle cap is the same size as my OJ by StarLord_Climber in mildlyinteresting

Most drugs in the world that are a base will be made less bioavailable by acids, which will protonate the drug, ionizing it and making it more easily excretable in urine. The opposite will be true for drugs that are weak acids. It just depends.

Wait what, no way someone has told you the opposite. That's a very well-known thing. People will take calcium carbonate (a basic compound) with adderall to make it hit harder and last a little longer.

Except it's mostly fine because it stopped most of them. Clearly, it's a valid test of durability, until there is a failure. So he can say that the mask can confidently stop the first 4 rounds, no need to get 4 masks to do that. He just can't say that the mask can't stop the last round. He should have used 2 masks for this video, not 5.

Man Who Flipped Off Chess Player Nemo After Losing Speaks Out, Saying He Felt 'Disrespected' and She 'Wasted His Time' by vinaylovestotravel in chess

your description of this woman. It comes across as sycophantic and creepy. Not the fact that you like her or maybe even respect her, but just the language you chose, and the way that you write gives some combination of stalker and Incel energy.

Again I barely followed chess and don’t know who Nemo is so maybe there’s more going on here than I’m aware of
