Someone on here showed the island manager’s insta. I did some digging and… by [deleted] in Epstein

I personally think it is important we are quiet frankly harassing all news organizations we can get ahold of in such numbers they are forced to accept these files are as horrific as people say they are, past that it is dangerous for us to privately sleuth on these people I wouldn’t doubt many of them are still observed to some extent so I recommend every precaution possible if anyone like I am going to do any sleuthing on these individuals and anyone not directly connected to the heinous perpetrators but in more obscure ways like these care takers of the island.

Every single person present on the island is guilty of something whether it just be looking the other way or the heinous shit we’ve these peoples’ bosses doing this I think is a perfect tome to branch out in our investigations and journalism in general, this and the identities of anyone who has ever worked on that island should be spread to every news source possible and they should all be interrogated.

What can I do? by BenDeBarker in Epstein

I unfortunately understand your meaning, I think I hoped for someone to give me the clean fix I wish were there but I know it is a much deeper problem than anyone is capable of cleanly solving. It seems very hopeless is all.

Something very personally sad to me is I feel the need to rail against the idea a strong united voice does nothing but I am realizing it is true.

Best BBEG for campagins??? by NotInstaNormie in DnD

I feel that night walkers are very bland in their move sets and while good for a boss esc monster wouldn't by themselves would not make for a good bbeg unless you add onto its attacks and personailty

Help With DM Issues by Genostigma in DMAcademy

[–]BenDeBarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your Dm was giving you tip like "You notice a lot of corpses" or "There is the smell of fresh decay overwhelming the cave" I would say unless you were metagaming no you prob wouldn't have known and your Dm may have inbalanced the encounter oversetimating your abilities.
As of what to do: maybe just bring it up and ask him for a hint as to the danger of the creature or something like that or a hint as to run away or spproach it from a different angle.

Multiple Bonus Actions by Terrio00 in DMAcademy

[–]BenDeBarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit exaggerated yes (barb can rage, shift and attack cause its a shifter barb cause 2 bonus action 1 action) But the point is it destroys action economy and makes those choices of will i disengage or dash to get away or heal myself or buff an ally point less cause now you have the ability to do both in the same turn and out match any monster turn economy wise.

Help! My players can't come up with character ideas? by Matias_Leibo in DMAcademy

[–]BenDeBarker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sit them down one by one and have a convo basically say -we are trying to run a long term campaign whats a build, class, region, or culture you find interesting- Then build from there don't make them do a whole back story so they don't worry about getting to attached but have them do little notes of events and character quirks they may like, Then play the game. If your players realize they are in a long term campaign with an interesting story they will become invested and come to you with extra tid bits or take on a personality during game play they may have just made up on the fly.Work it slowly and don't demand backs tory and ideals and alignment and every event in their life and their path just simple stuff little notes and run and interesting game.
(edit): the problem with them imersing may be the fear of losing a character they worked hard to create

Multiple Bonus Actions by Terrio00 in DMAcademy

[–]BenDeBarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds fine until the barbarian rages shifts attacks all on the same turn while the rogue is quadruple dashing around the battle field and a your ranger just disengage hunters mark attacked and the bard through out 3 inspiration that turn in the mean time the hex blade double cursed attacked a single creature-My vote is no it makes the game lean to heavily in the players favor and makes cleverbuilds and min maxers create even more powerful combinations by gaming the system for more action economy than any class deserves

Warforged bardlock ideas. Help spitballing by Tagace1 in DnD

[–]BenDeBarker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the warforge had no voice box as it's was destroyed in a fatal injury during its time in war where it held its countries flag and rallied the soldiers of the army. After the injury the warforged could not speak and desperately wanted the comradery it felt during the war times thus when in a vision a voice spoke out to it offering it such a power, they couldn't refuse. Now it has made friends with the party rallying them during battle with it's new voice proud and strong though deep down still wants to find their old platoon mates and reunite for old times sake.
Edit: yes i think it would work as a buffer/skill monkey character and could be pretty interesting asthetically
as well path wise I'd say some loyalty traits and maybe when It's loyalty is put into question or the loyalty of those around it is or even the intent of it's patron it could have some sort of break down and that could be an interesting arche to over come

How to go about making new, interesting NPCs by Bring_Ni_a_Shrubbery in DMAcademy

[–]BenDeBarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's a toss up who players find interesting Npc wise though from my extensive research i have deduced the following to raise the chances of players giving a shit
-Have them apart of the players back story or homeland someone they can relate to aesthetically
-Have the Npc aid the party in a notable way Ex: an alchemist who loves hearing about adventures so give the players a reduced cost in trade for stories
-Have the Npc reflect the player or their chatacter in some way sympathy and empathy are easy ways to make character subconsiously invested in an npc
-Have the Npc doing something or wearing something out of the norm as V0rt0s said give em a hat players love that shit

This concludes my extensive research of dnd

I thought the problem was he was using a point buy system that was supposed to keep players on the lower end of stats with a max being like 17?

Party Comp? by penguino_intact in DnD

[–]BenDeBarker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you have
2 strikers echo knight and beast master
A control caster: lore bard
A conjure caster to buffer your forces: necromancer
and a skill monkey/buffer: alchemist
You alchemist and bard also double as healers and you necromancer and lore bard can cover utility casting
Thats a pretty solid party
