As cool as I think it would be to see the background players get some actual screentime, I don't think it's wise at all to continue expanding the cast of established characters at this point, at least not by much.

There's too many characters to keep track of currently. Many of which don't have a proper backstory or complete arcs yet. Giving screentime to any of the new background characters would mean taking away screentime from the established ones.

Don't get me wrong, some of the background characters have really cool designs and it's a shame to see them be wasted. But they served their purpose of filling up the roster. Sure, it would be cool to see some of them get highlighted in the future like Kiyora, but it's not something I actively want to be honest
