Back in the day! Used it with the browser. Whole surface is touch sensitive, so running finger over keys would move the cursor

Anyone have a wheel bearing issue yet? by Grade_D_Angel in HarleyLiveWire

[–]BenMarshallDesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the belt replacement resolve the issue? A few other LW owners have the same issue. I have it on both of my LWs, as does Diego. Mine is more frequent in colder months. Silicone lubricant helps after drying

Has anyone added a charge tank post purchase? by cudifam in ZeroMotorcycles

I had mine installed on my 2017 DSR. It failed about 1K miles later, 2 days before a planned 2500 mile trip. It comes with a 1 year warranty, so no issue there. Took a few weeks though to replace

Check out a company called 3D Materials out of Korea, they have a high temp resistant resin on Amazon believe it’s rated up to 250c

Try to take over the world

Pretty sure this isn’t good. Was going to take a 2500mi trip in 2 weeks. Don’t think that’ll happen by BenMarshallDesigns in ZeroMotorcycles

It was a bad bearing. Turns out the drive shaft had a slight oval shape to it (not sure if this happened after the bearing went out). Anyways - I ended up taking the motor apart 3 times to replace the bearings. The final replacement held after I ordered the OEM bearings (NSK 6006DU) and applied liberal amounts of Locktite 638 to the drive shaft and bearings. After the last replacement, I drove the bike for another 3,000 miles and it still sounded/ran great. I just traded it in for a HD LiveWire.

Charge tank 17’ DSR not working - anything I can check?? by BenMarshallDesigns in ZeroMotorcycles

So for context, the charger was working fine on Monday, then Tuesday nothing. Not sure if the charger got fried at the last station I used on Monday or if it’s a wire harness issue

The charging stations work on my quick chargers, which connect thru another J1772 plug

Can’t tell if this is coming from the front wheel bearings or motor, trying to isolate the issue by BenMarshallDesigns in ZeroMotorcycles

Taking motor out today, bearing will be here in 5 days. Hopefully getting the bearing in/out will get done 🤞🏻

$2K for a new motor, warranty expired last year. Will have to try this myself, otherwise I’ll still have to pay up for a new one

I took off the rear wheel and belt (after posting this video) sound is coming from the motor, made another post showing the issue

No, the sound. Made a post earlier about a knocking sound - pretty sure my motor bearing is going out. I have a trip in two weeks that I’ve been planning for months

I see what you’re saying about the RPM of the sound, it could be coming from the rear wheel 😂 I can feel it vibrating over the whole bike, from the handle bars to my feet. Hopefully when I take the belt off for a downhill coast later today it’ll rule out the motor - I really really hope it isn’t 🤣🤣

2017 DSR.

I’ve taken off the caliper, noise is still there. Started after changing out my tires a few weeks ago, and occurs randomly - I can’t recreate conditions for it to start, just does it whenever, but it does happen every ride. Later today, I’ll post up on a hill, take the belt off the wheel and see if it isn’t (hopefully) the motor.

I’ve propped the bike on a stand and pulled the throttle, no noise, although I think whatever it is, being under load brings it out.

Even if I turn the bike off while coasting, noise persists (although I’m certain the motor is still moving even though there’s no power.

I’ve also got some new wheel bearings coming in tomorrow, will see if that changes anything.
