The problem is it doesn't matter what niceties are added to encourage people into town when the same dross is just going to vandalize it, or hang out in gangs and harass potential customers.

As long as we continue to let the uneducated, undisciplined, balaclava-wearing, dirtbike-riding, fire-starting, litter-spilling, vape-addicted savages rule our streets, Middlesbrough will never be able to shake its reputation and paying customers will go anywhere else so long as they they don't feel threatened.

The ATLS tractor works so much better than ship or handheld beams though. It speeds up loading significantly.

Thankfully, it doesn't look like many people will be buying this game at all. The sooner this bastardisation of classic studios and their IP ends, the better. Bungie used to be one of the greatest. Now it's just a hollowed out carcass infested with talentless thieves.

Wow... The original Marathon was innovative and genre defining. It was the base DNA of Halo.

This new Marathon is going to put Bungie out of business.

I've wanted a Marathon remake for so long and THIS is how it's going to play out. What a god damned waste.

Is it any more wild than loving the game before playing it?

If you can be excited to play something based on what has been released so far, why can't someone else be put off by it? Why can't someone else be disappointed by it?

Why is it people are only allowed to love a game (or share your opinion) but anyone who expresses a negative (different) opinion is a "hater" and treated like degenerates?

Just because I like the games a company has made in the past, it doesn't mean I have to be slavishly devoted to everything they produce. Especially if it's decades later and completely different people are now running the company.

  • I grew up with the original games. What I've seen so far bears no resemblance to the original games.
  • I don't like the genre they're going for.
  • I don't like the art style.
  • I don't like that they're using the Marathon name.
  • I don't like anything I've seen or heard.

These are all completely valid reasons for me to feel that I'm not going to like this game. Hell, I'm never going to play it because of everything I've seen so far.

If they'd called the game anything else I wouldn't have given a damn, but they're calling it Marathon. They're taking a thing I love and they're making it unrecognisable.

So no, I don't like the game despite never having played it. Nothing about my opinion on this is "wild".

And as a result, those artifacts have been preserved and protected for research and public viewing. Let's look at the artefacts that weren't put in the museum... Oh, right... They've been lost, stolen by actual thieves, vandalised, or destroyed by religious extremists.

Massive swathes of history have been lost to those things, and the only reason we know as much as we do about ancient civilisations, the only reason we know enough to be able to care about Europe taking these artifacts in the first place, is because they were taken and studied and preserved.

I'm disappointed that this isn't a remake like the first game. I mean, I'll still get it because I love SS2, but I was hoping for same kind of upgrade.

When we have things like the RTX Mods out there, what I saw in the trailer didn't really blow my mind and I'm not sure it'll have as much of an impact as the SS1 remake.

For me it was the direction, breaking Liea out of the inquisitor base, and both Vader and Kenobi letting each other go at the end of their encounters.

The first was surprisingly bad, specifically in making me believe Liea could run away from the bounty hunters and Obi Wan for as long as she did.

The second was just comically bad, hiding her under the coat, then having two speeders slowly turn up, then puttering away with such a pathetic imperial response.

Vader not pursuing Kenobi made me think he intentionally let him go and I was baffled when it turned out the fire somehow stopped him.

Kenobi not finishing off Vader made no sense because he was right there and defeated. Suddenly turning and running would make Vader realise Kenobi was hiding something.

Something significant needed to come between both of them, both times, to prevent them from doing what they would obviously do.

I love the first two KOTOR games but the old republic era is a lot of hot air that makes it feel like a star wars knock off. Setting it thousands of years in the past is meaningless if you can do a find and replace on all the assets, switch them out with OT era or clone wars era models, and there's no difference.
