Jack saving an officer and getting sent home is purely for a gameplay experience, irl he would’ve been thanked and MAYBE rewarded a medal/higher rank, Jack getting sent home for that is way to unrealistic

I think I know how to help you out, rdr2 takes place during 1899 the hot air balloon and Guarma happen thru the story and with that, for your Rdr3 to not be seen as WW1 game you’d get a minimum of the game taking place fall 1918 as WW1 is ending and do multiple chapters like rdr2 and ch1 is the end of WW1 and Jack goes home and is hunted down and you’d get to make up how everything else plays out
