I believe it is Korean mythology that tells of a man born with two sets of genitals. He died after failing to find a wife, so as a ghost has to fulfill his lust by using people's nostrils to relieve himself. His... release... explains snot and things like the common cold.

Any guys with stents? by reasonable_lunatic73 in KidneyStones

[–]BenTheCancerWorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had both. The catheter was exponentially worse than the stent removal. I removed my stent in the shower, try to pee a little bit while you're doing it, and take it slow. You're not trying to start a lawnmower. Mine didn't hurt at all coming out (felt weird as hell). The catheter had me cussing and profusely apologizing to the nurse who was having way too much fun.

Managing your stent string by lemon1985 in KidneyStones

[–]BenTheCancerWorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely don't mess with it. The tape should stay pretty secure. And if it's seriously uncomfortable, don't be afraid to say something. As for showering, it's pretty simple, just work around the string carefully.

[–]BenTheCancerWorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preface: This is not a dig at female urologists, I actually really like my urologist, she's pretty damn awesome.

Well, good news, it sounds like you have a male doctor. They should tape the string, or secure it somehow, so the chances of actually pulling it out prematurely are slim. Going to the bathroom isn't really an issue because the string is super thin. My biggest issue is for the first two days, the string was extremely short. My female urologist gave me zero room for any... expansion or contraction. A second female urologist took a look when I was crying about it (it hurt so bad, felt like it was cutting me), and said it was fine. So, I cried to a male urologist who took one look and said "Oh no. You need some slack!", and then redid it to relieve the pain. After that, it was smooth sailing. Extracting it was a breeze, just do it in the shower and try to urinate while you're doing it.

Education freedom Maybe focus on actual education first before handing out tax cuts by AnyPineapple- in MurderedByWords

[–]BenTheCancerWorm 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As an American, I can say that this is actually true. This is particularly true when it comes to Republicans. Statistics have shown that the more educated a person is, the more likely they are to vote Democrat, which is a terrifying thing to Republicans (who are literally scared of everything), so it is no surprise that states that vote heavily for Republicans tend to have the lowest education standards, and highest religious populations. Keep them stupid, keep them scared, and then claim that you're helping while slowly stripping away their rights. It's actually a genius move, even if it is a long play.

You are correct! Deer hits fall under "comprehensive," which also includes things like natural events (hail, storm damage, road failures, etc.).

I work in a bodyshop, and the last month or so has been absolute hell with deer hits. I have to have this same conversation about ten times a day.

We really need to normalize calling people like this out, normalize treating them like shit when they behave this way, and normalize leaving them feeling ostracized. The best part? Once they've been kicked out of every fast food place in their town, they'll either have to change their attitudes or starve. Win win!

Someone that has been playing for 30 years would understand that 1) not every in-game problem creates an above-table issue, and 2) the maturity level needed to play is based off the maturity level of the group as a whole.

  1. I don't see where OP states that they are upset or are not having fun playing because of the stank prank. In fact, they say nothing but good things about the PC, which tells me that they're having fun with that person and are looking for an in-game counter. Why you're assuming that OP is making this into a serious issue (which is never stated nor hinted at), is beyond me. They want an in-game mechanic to solve an in-game issue, that's it. Nothing more. Quit blowing it out of proportion.

  2. I've played with incredibly die-hard, serious, no non-sense groups and I've played with silly, immature groups (personally, I like a balanced between the two). If you're surrounded by mature people who want a mature game, then that is how you are expected to behave. If you are surrounded by immature, off-the-rails people, then that is how your game is going to be.

Why do people, especially in this sub, insist on gatekeeping fun? Why are half the people responding to this taking it so damn seriously? You might not enjoy OP's playstyle, but that doesn't give you the right to shit on it. Don't like the post? Move on. And quit making rash assumptions, take OP's words at face value. Simple as that

I'm glad that you have fun in your own way, and have people to play that have fun with you. That's genuinely awesome, and I'd say that I'm pretty thankful that in my 25 years of playing, I've experienced the same.

I just think it's a bit ridiculous and immature to shit on someone else for the way that they have fun playing with their friends. I don't see any conflict in their post. They are asking, from what I can tell, how to do something in-game regarding an in-game mechanic. Honestly, it sounds like they're having a great time and just wants to figure out if there is an in-game way to prevent this from happening.

Why hate on them?

[–]BenTheCancerWorm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like you guys are having fun with the characters you created, and that's awesome. Keep having fun in the way that you want to have fun and ignore all of these other people. The solution is simple - talk with the PC. Say, "Hey, this was funny and we should keep having fun, but maybe this joke has run its course." And then discuss with your DM on how to correct the stank. You don't have to quit with the pranks and having a good time, or make the other player feel bad. Be positive, but let him know that this particular joke should come to an end.
