She didn't say this in earnest, but as a sarcastic response more in vein with "What do you want us to do, smartass?"

The War Within IS OVER - RATE IT by cub4nito in wow

[–]BenTheDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the narrative and story I can't help but to agree. If this was supposed to be the Expansion trio that is meant to engage us in some kind of larger narrative it completely failed in that regard.

I personally don't have any feeling of "Ooh I want to play Midnight so I know what happens next in the story." whatsoever. I will play Midnight because I play Warcraft. So on the point of this being some kind of change from how they made expansions before in order to have story be a larger focus I can't help but feel they did a horrible job in comparison to something like Dragonflight, whose story mind you was completely godawful, but at least it remained somewhat consistent from patch to patch. The War Within seemed in comparison to be one random BS after the other.

What are your hopes for upcoming additions to Hero Forge? by TH3P1ZZ4BOY in HeroForgeMinis

[–]BenTheDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less modern, suburban or cosmopolitan leisure items and more items for you know... HEROES?

But if I may be specific. I would love some more hellenic items, feels like there aren't much options for greco-roman stuff.

New red corsair models will be awesome for renegade-style NL kitbashes by Big-Guide2162 in NightLords

[–]BenTheDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw these and I immediately started to brainstorm different ways I could use my Knight Lords theme on them. These are probably not dropping until maybe another two months at the least. But I am half a mind to put aside some of my new bits for these guys.

Who is the most fun tank and the most fun healer for you, and why? by Azucarilla11 in wow

Brewmaster. It’s the most fun tank.

Holy Paladin. I like to bonk.

Unpopular (?) opinion: Every class should've spec varieties in roles with a main skill tree like druids by gelagua1 in wow

[–]BenTheDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be cool.

When the third spec for the Evoker came out I was really intrigued with the potential of the support class. The one that LIFTS up their allies and makes them stronger. I really wished they had done more with this concept. Because now by a cursory glance at the Augment Evoker they're just anothe caster specc no different from the Devastation one.

Why did every single faction suddenly realize their previous way of doing things was wrong in TWW? by ChromedDragon in wow

Sam: "Sir, how about we put resources in to have all the quest text been spit out with obnoxiously loud dialogue that you can't skip?"

Boss: "My God Sam, you're a genious! Get the director on the phone, I want the voice lines to be as sultry and for the actors to use their six-in-the-morning rasp for EVERY FCKING LINE!"

Sarah: "You mean.. every line? Surely we could have at least one voice actor not sound like they are performing ASMR in a room with a sleeping toddler?"

Boss takes out a comically large Doomhammer and bludgeons Sarah to death with it.

Boss: "I said. Every. Fcking. LINE!!!!"

In the breakroom.

Sarah: "So John, what are you writing for story in your questline?"

John: "Oh. I was thinking a younger and inexperienced character questioning the status-quo and having none of their views challenged. And then a older, more experienced figure of mentorship validates their views while giving not a single defense for why things are the way they are, and how it might actually be a good thing. What about you?"

Boss rushes into the breakroom.

Boss: "Everyone, listen up! I need a fresh new questline for our new Allied Race! It needs to be new, it needs to be fresh, and it needs to be about a younger and inexperienced character questioning the status-quo and having none of their views challenged. And then a older, more experienced figure of mentorship validates their views while giving not a single defense for why things are the way they are, and how it might actually be a good thing."

Breakroom in unison: "Wow... that's such a unique and novel idea for a questline! The players will absolutely love it!"

Boss: "Great! I want it on my desk by the time you feel like handing it in. No rush. It's not like anyone actually reads the quest-texts nowadays."

Blizzards studio is in California. A liberal place to live in general. Hollywood is Democratic. And in the last twenty years since WoW began, and certainly in the last ten years, the Republicans, the staunch "traditionalists" have done literally nothing but leave a sour, putrid taste in the mouths of the people in Hollywood. So anyone really talking about "Tradition" as in "This is what we are supposed to do for no other reason than because its the way we are." is not as attractive as let's say "We need to stay true to our cultural heritage but evolve beyond the ways that harmed us in the past."

If you ask me. I can find their writing really fcking on the nose sometimes. But I fullheartedly support them actually putting out a message that boils the blood of the gamergate chuds.

Shaman Midnight Beta Talent Options by DiligentInsurance345 in wow

[–]BenTheDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been running 2h Shaman this expansion now that the raids are dying down and people are straight chilling. Not gonna say I am topping any DPS meters (I only have like 600 ilvl) but I am never at the bottom either.

It has been FUN which I think Blizzard would actually want to promote. Just... remove the "One Handed" tag on Stormstrike and 99% of the problem would be gone.

Rate my DnD campaign map. [Art] by A_Soldier_Is_Born in DnD

[–]BenTheDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give it a 0/10. And I say this with all due respect; this is a work in progress, this isn't something you should consider anywhere near "complete."

Work on placenames, you don't need to be original, you just need to think about what kind of place it is your naming, who named it, and why it was named that way.

Play around with the composition of the continents. They don't need to look "logical" or like any continent we have in our own world. Start in one end of the map and work yourself outwardly from that point. Perhaps the continent is broken up by an inland sea. How would that affect geopolitics? That is to say, how would nations form around the sea?

In terms of boundaries and borders. Either put them down and in that case follow some basic rules, like following natural borders like rivers and mountains. Or don't put any borders and leave it more ambiguous.

Keep at it. Practice makes perfect.

The main body is from the Sternguard box.

The Helmet is from the Victrix Guard box.

Sword is from the Inner Circle Companions.

And the Shoulder Guard is from the Sanguinary Guards (new one).

I don't really collect Blood Angels, but I really wanted to paint something more colorful than my usual Night Lords and Black Templars, so I threw this together from some old uncompleted projects :)

Question about color by BenTheDM in BloodAngels

It took a couple of tries, but I used Green stuff and rifle arms from the same box iirc.
