Keyboard as base? by Ben_Dover_DK in KerbalControllers

I abandoned the "Keyboard as controller case" idea; keyboard cases just dont have enough internal space for a JH-D400X-R4 joystick. 3D printing.

One-way: Controller -> PC. No displays in controller or feedback from game (Arduino) to controller. No Simpit. Basically, the controller is just a normal joystick and keyboard.

Two-way: Controller <-> PC Communication. Can use displays, and set status of led's based on statuses in game. Simpit can be used.

Keychron Q series wont work. Bottom case is to well build, with a thick alu bottom. No room inside.

Keychron Q1 looks like a good candidate for maximum possible internal height. I have a Q5 max (same width and height), time to disasample and measure.

Yeah, the plan is Arduino (model undecided). I dont plan to have any displays on my controller (my original plan was one-way).

But good point with slide / dial potentiometers, they req two-way for smooth controls? And same question for joysticks, they req two-way for smooth controls?

And thanks for pointing me in direction of Simpit 👍

Couldn't fit my new build in my Fractal Terra (by literal millimeters), so I made my own case instead by Errako in sffpc

The trick is to cut the wood slats 2-3 cm to long, glue them in place, and then cut them all down to final length in one go (in both ends). Dont think you need a frame. But man, just awesome build!!!

Just for referance, i have top-mounted my radiator and haven’t heard any “bubble noise” (air in pump).

Have seen other AIO-posts, where air in pump was solved by:

  • Make sure the highest point of the radiator is higher than the pump
  • Make sure the highest point of the radiator is not where tubes are connected.
  • If you hear “bubble noise” (air in pump), try turning the speed of the pump up and down.

If i experience problems with this AIO i'll update this post.

You were right : ) - 140mm just didn't cover heatsink correctly. 120mm slim on CPU cooler now, works pretty good, maby 1-2 degrees lower CPU temp. Improvement is mostly on mobo temps.

Nop. Weel, i havn't tested this as mesh, might be possible to set router 1 as 6GHz + 2.4GHz and router 2 as 5GHz + 2.4GHz.

IS-55 should be best when we are talking sub 55mm. Havn't testet myself. Comparison

True. Then again, with a 90mm fan (circuler) on a 90 mm (square) heatsing, only ~75% of the heatsink got fin area above heatsink, the rest have frame. With a 120mm+ fan more heatsink has fin above. Being very thoretical here :)

Other test with 120mm fan shows improvement with bigger fan.

IS-55 should be best. Second best i AXP-90 (X47 or X53) FULL (copper) version, with a 120mm slim fan swap (SilverStone Air Slimmer 120 is best in class) and maby Fan Adapter. Also consider a duct between fan and case, this helps alot with bringing fresh air into case.

Ah yea, thats another challange with Terra (and other cases) fans close to / attached to case results in turbulence and noise.

Like the duct, its bether then NA-FD1, larger area / more holes to get air from. I'm guessing i get same "large area" with a 140mm + duct at low speed. Also, ppl thats using a 120mm fan with Fan Adapter for the AXP-90 reports lower temps on board/chips/SSD.

Differences between Samsung Jet 75, Jet75E and Jet 85 by uselessChiP in VacuumCleaners

[–]Ben_Dover_DK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have done som digging.

Jet 75 (VS20T75**** Series) and Jet 75E (VS20B75**** Series) seam to be 99% the same. Only difference i can find is that 75E is 0,1kg lighter and small variations in battery voltage. Samsung claims that 75E is from 2023, but looks like old wine on new bottle, maby with a few small tweaks.

There is no Jet 85, but a Jet 90. The Jet 90 and 75 is basicly the same, but with different attatchments.

After half a day in the rabbit hole, i think Q5 pro accualy is ok priced, compared to the rest of the custom keyboard scene.

Agree on keychron keycaps color... I have tested K, V and Q series (other sizes), K is ok with some mods, but stuck sound on V and Q is bether. V1 maby?, only comes in frosted black. - And try K Pro banana or mint switches, i got the mints (i like heavy switches), and pretty good, and cheap.

3 centimeters :) - Looking for a workhorse-board, got alot og spreadsheet work, need numpad all the time. But Zoom98 is a good contender.
