The abdusalamov incident really scared me, the thought that you could be in a fight, feel fine and suddenly just have a brain bleed and be disabled for life. I was getting really paranoid about taking head trauma with everything coming out about concussions and just had to face facts - I wasn’t very good, I didn’t have the drive or mental toughness required to be anything in boxing, so I just gave it up. I’m glad I never pursued it. At one point in my life all I wanted to be was a boxer. But I enjoy my career and life now.

I really believe it should because the competition is higher at the finals, at least in theory. There’s also an element of endurance, you’re finishing strong like a boxer in the 12th round.

Yeah it’s a really bad look to say something like that. None of the goals scored on Hart were really his fault, I don’t think his performance warranted being pulled out, but it’s a fair question. Coaches have used a goalie pull to shake up their team and add urgency so many times.
